"Ice Make: Hammer!"
"Water Slicer!" They fired their weapons at the massive bird. It squawked angrily and swung a sharp talon at them. Grey leapt back, cursing, while Juvia dove to the ground with a shriek.
"You okay?" She nodded as she got back up, searching for a weak spot. The bird flapped its wings and squawked again. As its wings spread, it left its breast completely vulnerable. They looked at each other and nodded. They both fired their most powerful blasts directly at the bird's chest. With one last angry shriek, the bird collapsed, finally defeated. Gray and Juvia both looked at the bird, then each other, and then back to the bird, all the while panting heavily. Then one of them cracked a smile, and they both started laughing. They were both gasping for air as they both laughed. "Wow, they weren't kidding when they said they had a pest problem."
"'Pest Problem?' Juvia thinks they may have exaggerated a little." Gray grinned
"Maybe just a bit." When they both collected themselves, they turned to report to the town mayor. Juvia pulled out the flyer.
"At least the reward is worth it."
"How much was it again?"
"2 000 000 Jewel." Gray whistled.
"Wow." Juvia nodded. "What should we do with it?"
"Well, Juvia was doing the math. If we put aside 500 000 for the rent, and another 200 000 for groceries, and then put 200 000 in our savings, then that leaves us with 1 100 000 Jewel. So, Juvia was thinking..." She trailed off.
"You have an idea?"
"Well, we've been taking jobs nonstop, so Juvia was wondering. What if we went on vacation for a week? It's been a long time since Juvia has seen the ocean." She added. Gray thought for a minute, and Juvia waited anxiously. When he didn't answer, Juvia assumed that was a no. "But we can do something else too!" She exclaimed.
"No, no." He smiled at her. "The beach sounds great." Juvia smiled.
"Really?"
"Yeah," He shrugged. "It's been awhile since we've had time to ourselves to just relax, plus it'd be nice to get away from the guild and Flame Brain." Juvia clapped her hands together excitedly.
"Juvia's so excited!"
"Okay, okay. Calm down." He chuckled. "We still have to make reservations." He tried to reason with her, but it was hard to keep calm when she was getting so pumped. She blushed and stopped, trying to maintain some pride. "I'm excited too." She grinned up at him and he smiled down at her. "Now come on; the sooner we cash in the sooner we can start planning!" He grabbed her hand and they raced toward town hall, their laughter following them the whole way there.
