Chapter l
Meeting
~Lucy~
Every morning, I always felt happy, cheerful, no worries of anything in the world. Unlike some children, I was a child that was raised with love and was protected from what kind of horrible things happened outside of my happy world.
Everyone in the mansion had this face that looked always faced me with a cheerful smile, but sooner or later, after my mother died, I felt all the miseries of everyone in the mansion, and I saw every hideous problem that happened to every single one I knew. I ignored all of what I realized and tried to act normal, but It didn't last long. A year after my father died and the Heartfilia Conzern was passed on to me. I almost snapped when all of my father's business' problems were passed on to me. Luckily I had a cousin named Michelle, but I still couldn't take it. Michelle is a responsible girl. She could handle the business way better than I could. I have a big brother, but He has his own stuff to do and I don't want to pester him with the business.
So I ran away and passed the business to Michelle, but of course I erased all of the problems dad passed on to me so that Michelle wouldn't have a hard time on her own. I just didn't want to be this happy-go-lucky rich girl who people think had no problems whatsoever. This girl who had everything and anything. I'm sick of being like that! I want to live alone.....and that's what I did.
While traveling and thinking what place to go. I overheard a conversation that there was this place called Magnolia where Good luck comes to you when you see the flowers glowing in the winter. I was impressed and was curious about the flowers, and so I headed there and bought a house where some of my friends from Highschool were.
Years passed and I have learned the art of living alone. It was fun years and the flowers did bring me luck, but I just felt like there was a missing something in me that I couldn't pin point what.
One morning I woke up and saw the white snow cover my roof and window. It's the first day of snow! I was so happy. I could see the flowers again. I opened the door and stepped out to where the cold wind greeted me with it's cool icy breeze. Icicles hung from my roof and the fish pond was frozen solid. Good thing I was too lazy to put fish.
I walked to the gate and noticed that there was a shivering guy sitting in front of my gate. I could see the end of the spikes on his hair and it was pink, but to me it looked like his hair was white since it was covered with thick layers of snow. Has he been here over night?? I leaned a bit closer to see his face. He wasn't the most charming guy in Magnolia, but he's cute.
"Hey," I called gently. "What are you doing out here in the snow?" I empathized with him a bit. I couldn't stand a person freezing, and by looking at him, he has lots of scars.
He kept silent with his freezing hands and.....blushing face?
I smiled opened the gate. I leaned to him and patted his head softly. His hair is pretty soft even if it was drowned with the white snow.
He twitched and moved his head slowly to look at me with eyes that started to swell up with tears.
"H-Hey, don't cry." I said smiled. I reached for his hand, a sign of trust in our family. "Why don't you come in and warm up?" I said while holding his hand, looking and smiling at each other.
He nodded and looked surprised at me.
I helped him stand because he had a hard time since he, apparently, has a lot of scars and wounds.
I let him sit down beside the kotetsu and gave him one of Dad's thick jacket that I brought with me before running away. I also gave him hot tea to warm up. I sat down in front of him and smiled, not to frighten him.
"What's your name?" I asked. He didn't look me in the eye though.
"I'm Natsu Dragneel. You?"
"Hi! Natsu!" I reach out my hand to his." I'm Lucy, Nice to meet you." I smiled and he replied with a smile as well. He held my hand tight and--I don't know about him but-- I felt a bit of a spark from him. A good spark though. I like it.
