Chapter 9: Escaping The Great Lord

"Wai-wai-wai-wai-wait" Tom tried to process what had happened as the four were fleeing from the volcano, "So you purposefully challenged Lord Creos into a pun battle, so he could win and make me mad so I could hit him with a hammer?"

Jack shrugged, ignoring the rapidly enclosing army behind him, "Hey, you were the one who wanted to fight Lord Lego"

"For once, I'm glad to let you slam that hammer into that psycho's face," Jane shuddered, "I do not wanna get exploded"

"You guys.... do know there's a giant army right behind us trying to capture us, right?" Slither panted, growing more tired by the second.

Behind them, the volcano erupted again. The animal army stopped the pursuit and cowered in fright as chunks of flaming rock rained down on them.

"Not anymore, but now we've got the rock rain to worry about" Tom muttered, he fell back to join Slither, grabbing his arm and then speeding him ahead of the giant fiery debris. Jane flew sky high, away from the boulders, and Jack slammed his fist into any incoming projectiles, crushing them like butter.

"Uppercut! Uppercut! and more Uppercuts!" He kept yelling, as he punched repeatedly at the sky, hoping to uppercut more rocks.

The four made it out safe and sound, but when they looked back, they saw the pursuing army, now reduced by a ton.

"The army is approximately 30% less than before the eruption" Tom announced as he scanned the attackers, "They won't be bothering us anytime soon"

"Hey guys! Look!" Jack beckoned them all over. "The button! It's lost some of its cracks!"

The 4 gathered around the button, which seemed to have repaired itself a little.

"It definitely looks better than before the last wish" Jane commented.

"I think it should mend in about a day" Tom said, "We might be able to make a wish in 1 or 2 days guys"

"Or probably by the next chapter" Slither muttered.

The three tilted their heads to one side. "Whaaaaat?"

"N-n-othing!"

"If its going to mend in 2 days" Jack rubbed his hands eagerly. "Then I've got something planned for it"

"What do you mean?"

"Nothing, oh, ho ho... I've been waiting to do this for years"

"Your creeping me out" Jane nervously stepped away from Jack.

"Does anybody have any idea what on earth Jack is talking about?"

Slither shrugged. "No clue"

"It's fine, you'll realize in 2 days" Jack still had the evil smile on his face.

Off in the distance, Creos roared in fury, then summoned a boulder and hurled it at their path.

"Well, looks like destructo guys awake and mad" Jack calmly readied his fists to punch the boulder in pieces, but Jane had other ideas.

"Oh no you don't!" She flew up, snatching vines as she ascended to the sky. Reaching the top of the highest tree, she whizzed around the trunks, rapidly tying knots with the vines. "Time for me to shine!" She called to them down below.

"A slingshot" Tom nodded his head in approval. "She's trying to use Creos's own weapon against him"

"Will the ropes be strong enough though?" Jack wondered out loud.

"It's not about the vines, Jane has enough of those. It's the trunk I'm worried about. Most trees aren't very flexible, but if I'm right about what kind of tree it is..."

Jane managed to tie one last knot from the tree and flew out of the way as the boulder finally came rolling down to the face of the earth. Sure enough, the tree bent with the vines, the boulder slowing down as its momentum decreased. Then finally, the massive tree slingshot shot straight up, catapulting the boulder right back into Creos and his army. The Great Lord blasted the boulder to rubble, but the debris rained down on the army, burying some of them into a mini rock mountain.

"Just as I thought" Tom's eyes gleamed with humor. "The tree's were bamboo"

"Sieze them!!!!" Creos yelled, before he realized that half of his army was squashed flat. "Curses!!!!!!!!!! I'll be back!!!" He glared at all of them. "This will not be the last time we meet!!" "And you!" He turned his attention to Slither, who backed away at his attention. "Betrayer!!! Don't think you will be saved by these puny upstarts!!! Why, I will squash them like a bug!"

"Good to see you too" Slither turned to his friends. "Can we go now please?"

"Why not?"

Tom grabbed Slither and sped them away from the great lords domain, while Jane ushered Jack into the giant slingshot.

"Why are you taking me to the slingshot?" Jack said nervously, "Do you want to shoot Creos one more time or something?"

"No" Jane grabbed some more vines and flew around Jack, tying him up like a cocoon.

"Hey! What are you doing?" Jack started panicking.

"Nothing" Jane tied him to the slingshot, then stretched the line to the furthest tree she could find. "It's just, your too heavy for me to lift, so I found another transport instead!"

"NononononononONONONO!!!!!!!!!" Just before Jane cut the vine connected to the tree and the slingshot. Jack screamed as he was rocketed into the air, even faster than Tom with his superspeed.

Jane flew after him and Tom and Slither.

WILL JANE STOP BEING SO BRUTAL????
