My brother had guests over, which meant I would have to go out and introduce myself, which was never fun. I didn't have any makeup on, and my hair wasn't done, and Matt was harassing me to get my ass downstairs and say hi to everyone. I love him, but he can be a dick sometimes. He's the only one I have, with my parents gone now. I winced at the thought of them leaving me. I brushed my hair lightly and put a beanie on, to cover my black roots peaking through my bright red hair. I threw on some mascara, and rushed downstairs, feeling really self conscious.    Why torture other people with the sight of me? I just wanted my blade. "Hey. You look nice." Matt said. I chuckled. "Yeah right." I replied. "Come say hi to everyone." Matt responded. I felt my social anxiety kick in, and I immediately wanted to withdraw myself, sitting in my room, blasting music, with the beautiful razor kissing my skin.

Matt lead me through the living room, where the lights were dimmed and there was loud music playing. "Anthem" by Bring me the Horizon was on. He introduced me to one of his friends, Dan.

"Hey." I said shyly. He looked a bit drunk, so I wasn't too worried about making the best first impression. "Hey, babe." I smiled. Did he find me attractive? No, he's drunk. I told myself. "What's up? You enjoyin' the party?" Dan asked. "I guess. Just staying for a bit." I replied. "Well, I've heard a lot about you. Vanessa, right?" Dan asks. "Yeah, you can call me Nessa." I said with a smile. "Oh cool. Well, see you around Nessa." And at that, he walked away. Did I do something to scare him off?

Matt came up to me, "What, can't keep a conversation going?" I rolled my eyes. He was drunk too.

I walked over to a lounge chair to sit down and enjoy a drink. I sighed. I noticed somebody next to me. I knew who he was. Nicholas Matthews, from Get Scared, one of my favorite bands. "Hey!" Nick said. My heart starting pounding in my chest. This isn't the first band member I've met, so I knew to stay calm and collected. Matt was friends with a lot of band members, being in an underground band himself. "Hey." I said, giving a friendly smile. He didn't look drunk. He looked innocent, and calm. He had these beautiful eyes, shades of green and blue, and this smile that made me feel safe and secure. "You look nice!"

Did he really just say that? I smiled wide, revealing my smiley piercing. "Thanks." I say. "You look great too..." Nick laughs a little, and looks down. He scoots a bit closer to me and looks into my eyes. "You seriously have to be the most beautiful I've girl ever lay my eyes upon." Nick says, biting his bottom lip a little bit. God, this guy was gorgeous, what did he see in me? He tucked a stray piece of hair behind my ear. "Not even close." I say, looking down a bit. I looked back up at him, to see him still staring into my eyes. He put his hands behind my neck and leaned in to kiss me, our lips moving in sync. It was passionate and beautiful. For the first time in a while, I felt something new; happiness and confidence.

I pulled away slowly, and looked back into his eyes, making me melt all over again. I blushed a little, and looked to the side. I shifted in my seat a bit, as Nick grabbed my hand, our fingers intertwined. I rested my head on his shoulder, and Nick put his free hand on my thigh, sweetly  stroking it. "Get a room!" Matt yelled, causing my to flinch a little bit. "Maybe we will!" I called back, laughing to myself. "Oh so that's how it is?" Nick said seductively.  "Maybe." I said, with a half smile. I led Nick up to my room. I just met this guy, so we wouldn't go too far, I thought to myself. He's too innocent and sweet.

I rested my head on his chest, listening to his heart beat, as he played with my hair. He was just too cute. I glanced up, to look into his dreamy eyes again, when I noticed something different. His heart started beating faster, and his eyes widened a bit.  "What?" I asked nervously. He got up, and walked to my nightstand, picking up a razor I left there from the night before. Shit, I thought to myself. He crawled back underneath the covers, razor still in his hand. He slowly pulled back my jacket sleeve, revealing many scars and cuts of all different sizes, depths, and healing stages. Now my heart was beating faster, and I looked away, embarrassed and ashamed. "It's okay." Nick cooed, as he pushed up his sleeve, revealing many cuts.
