*"I wished that i could stay here forever and be happy with everyone"
Ainsly played the piano and sang. This was her favorite pastime. She took notice of the skeleton beside her and decided to impress him with her talent. After she finished the song, she asked Sans "What do you think?"
Sans shrugged and smiled. "Pretty swell kid. Good job"
She felt honored when he praised her. She smiled but it wasn't her whole smile. Lately she was thinking if she would be doing Genocide or not. She knew it wasn't that hard of a decision to make but she had to get stronger in order to make it to the surface.
Sans gestured to the door and Ainsly followed. As they walked on the snowy road, she looked at Sans, who looked deep in thought. Lately, Sans has also been out of this world and it worried her to the bone. She looked at him then at his wallet then at the nice cream vendor. She could get some for the two of them. That would cheer him up. She took his wallet and ran over to the nice cream vendor and ordered two nice creams. After getting the nice creams, she paid and went back to Sans, only to see him still dazed.
Honestly, did he not see her?
"Hey Sans want some nice cream?" Ainsly surprised him. She was glad that he was back to being his goofy and fun self as she gave him back his wallet.
They both sat on a bench and enjoyed their nice creams. On days like this, Ainsly always enjoyed looking at the white scenery. She knew Sans must be tired of looking the same scenery over and over again but to her, something about the scenery made it different-
"Sans, Sans look!" She held her hand, palm up, to catch two snowflakes.
Sans will never understand the joys of human beings. Ainsly could understand him. She confuses herself as well, surprises even.
She's always in a conflict with herself, and she got scared of the decisions she made. Will she ever find an escape to these endless loops of resets and mistakes that haunts Sans? She doesn't know. She's tired of resetting so she's made the decision to never do it again.
She felt Sans's fingers touch her and she slowly responded to him by intertwining her fingers with his. She leaned on his shoulder and closed her eyes. Questions raced on her mind as she tried to figure out what her next move will be. She wants to be strong. But she doesn't want to hurt anybody, not even Sans. She never felt so loved in her entire life when he was around her. Her soul started to glow a bit brighter as Sans kissed her forehead.
"You're gonna be alright kid. You will"
Ainsly knew what he meant. He knew she was going to that route, the route that haunted him ever since Frisk showed up. She didn't want to burden him...she didn't.
She buried her face on his jacket and sobbed.
She wanted to tell him she was sorry, that she wanted to stay like this, that she loved him so much.
But it can't be helped.
Power corrupts the best people after all.

Ainsly coughed out blood as the bone stabbed her, one landing on her heart.
"Get dunked on kid" she heard Sans say and felt his tears fall to her cheek.
She wanted to look at his face and dry his tears away and whisper sweet nothings to him.
But by then, her eyes were already closed.Darkness surrounded her as she felt herself disappear. Two buttons appeared before her.
"RESET"
"CONTINUE"
She was about to press continue when a memory from a timeline popped in her head.*"i-i wished that i could stay here forever and be happy with everyone"
*You hear laughter
*"Sans! you said you wouldn't laugh"
*"i-i'm sorry Ains. It's funny cause...that's my wish too"'What are you waiting for? Finish him!' A voice echoed in her head.
She shook it off and brought her hand to the RESET button.
Maybe this time she would have to reconsider. Maybe this time she won't have to CONTINUE.
"One last time" she said and pressed RESET.
~
"Sans! Are you ready yet?"
"I'm coming kid, i'm coming"
Papyrus had asked them to pick some groceries since he had training with Undyne. Ainsly smiled and held on to Sans's hand.
"You're awfully cheerful today. What's up?" He asked, glowing a shade of blue on his cheeks.
"Oh nothing" she said in a happy sing-song voice. Sans shrugged and let it slide.
"Stay close to me. I don't want you getting lost or running away..." Sans trailed off as he held her hand tightly. Seeing his distress, probably because he was afraid to lose her again, Ainsly said, "Don't worry. I won't be going away just yet; I'm just gonna stay here beside you"
Sans smiled and looked at her then he relaxed his hold on her hand.
"Good. I like it that way"SAVE
