"Listen, Lex." Luk waited until she looked up at him. "We'll be fine."
Lexi didn't believe him and she made a face to prove her point.
He seemed to notice this so he said, "Trust me."
She looked back down, still not seeing how they would get out of this. Hunter was probably dead... or dying.
"This is all my fault," she said, still stuck in self pity.
"Yeah, it is. Lexi, why did you do that? It was stupid," he replied, making his repulsion notable.
Lexi turns, facing him, but instead of looking him in the eyes, she stared at his well- built chest. "Luk...."
"What, Alexis? That was a dumb move!" he growled.
Lexi couldn't feel anything but shame as she stared at the ground, wishing she could start the day over.
