"Dear God Whispers!" I looked down to see Whispers laying on a heap of clothes he knocked off my shelves. He was purring loudly and lifted his head to the sound of my stern voice, "Pardon me, I thought I would have a little fun while you were in town." I looked at him with affectionate eyes, "Well I can't stay mad at you for long," He slowly stood and arched his elegant back side in order to stretch, "And why is that?" He questioned suspiciously."Me and Tina are going to the Cat's Coffee Cafe." Whispers gracefully jumped onto the bed infront of me, "What's this Coffee Cafe you speak of?" I smiled brightly, happy to see his interest. "Oh it's this library with a cafe in it, and you're allowed to bring your cat in." Whispers jumped into my lap after I took a seat next to him, "OH! Take me with youuuu!!" He rubbed against me, begging to be taken. I hesitated. What if he gets taken away from me? What if he speaks? "You promise you'll be good?"Tail fur was flicked in my face, "Of course!" After that I spent about an hour getting ready and getting Whispers to successfully not get in the window of the car as I drove. I looked over to the passenger seat and saw him with his paws placed on the window looking down at the Buffalo River as we crossed the bridge. "You like that?" Whispers took awhile to stare at the clear blue rushing water. He didn't reply immediately but turned his head around and nodded. "I saw pictures of it on Grandmas computer with you when we used to play on it at night, but I didn't think it was that beautiful." I teared up a little, "I remember those nights. We would stay up late, late at night watching educational videos, chasing each down the hallway, and those late night talks with dad." Tears rolled down my cheek as my thoughts ran back to the summer I spent with him in Arkansas while he had lung cancer, before he died. Whispers jumped into my lap and let out a raspy purr, his voice cracked as he spoke softly, "I miss him too kid. After you left I stayed with him until you were to return but... He got to weak and sick, but after he died I vowed I would never watch you grow into sadness your entire life grieveing over him. You need to move on and realize that... Well... He is always with you, and me. His spirit will forever... Forever. Remain in our hearts. Jenny. I look at you and all I see is him. Your parents are you. You're half of your mom, and half of your dad. You're him and more..." My heart sank as I heard him say those words. I slammed on the breaks and almost wrecked the car, but it was worth it. I quickly pulled over, picked up Whispers and held him close, "I love you so much Whispers...You were my first true friend and now... Your family..." Whispers purred loudly and grips his paws into my shirt almost as if he was hugging me, "I love you too kid..."
Finally after I got home from the library with Whispers me and him ran upstairs to read my book. Tina and Kristy followed and we bassicly had a slumber party for reading with our cats. Tina brought her cat Ginger, and Kristy brought her cat Cookie. I spread out some blankets and some pillows on the floor,"Okay want me to read aloud my encyclopedia?!" I asked excitedly. They all looked at me like I was crazy, even the cats,"Er no." I nodded in agreement, "Probably a good idea." My legs begun to ache so I sprawled out on one of the comforters, Whispers curled up against my side. I was just now starting to learn the anatomy of the human body, instead of animal body and behavior. I opened the large book and smiled when I saw Whispers eyes light up with fascination. He must like the pictures. I thought quietly as I flipped through the pages. I closed the book and got a book about cats on the shelve next to me. The pages had pictures of beautiful felines, and I had a feeling Whispers would like it. Which he sure did. We all read quietly, listening to classical music, slowly falling asleep next to our cats, and eventually spending the night in my room. I woke up about three in the morning. Whispers was sleeping peacefully next to Ginger and against my belly. He looked so cute like that. "This cats going to make my life so much better. I love my fabulous family. " I whispered to myself. I kissed Whispers head, he let out a small purr as I curled up closer to Kristy and Tina. As we all slept all three of us were sleeping with our babies. Our cats.
