Hogg Troubles

By

Autumn Hamato

Daisy Duke wiped the fresh cleaned beer glasses as she prepared for the rush of the dinner crowd. The Boar's Nest was empty for now since the last of the lunch crowd had just left.

As Daisy quietly sung with the slow song playing on the jukebox, she looked up just as the front door opened. A lady dressed in a white sweater dress and a man dressed in a chauffeur uniform entered into the empty bar. Hello Daisy offered the elegant looking dark haired lady that came over to the empty bar. Well hello you wouldn't know where I might find J.D. Hogg. Daisy sat the beer glass she had been wiping with a towel down on the bar. Yea, just go right through that door. Daisy pointed toward a closed door with private written in bold gold letters.

Thank you so much. Daisy watched as the dark haired lady and her chauffeur walked into the tiny office.

As the office door opened Boss J.D. Hogg paid little attention to the opening door. He only assumed it was Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane. Uncle Boss. The voice announced to Boss' surprise. Boss looked up from the ledger he'd been reviewing to see his niece Caroline standing in front of his desk. Well it it's not my niece Caroline. The two hugged. I have not seen you since you were knee high to a grasshopper.

Well Uncle Boss Caroline smiled brightly I came to get those pesky Dukes out of your hair once and for all. Boss took a long puff of his cigar as he pointed a finger toward Caroline. Do it and earn you twenty five thousand dollars. The two shacked hands quickly. Get that money ready Uncle Boss it's good as done.

Boss wasn't sure of what Caroline had planned or really cared as long as the Dukes was out of his way. This plan of yours Caroline when do you get started? Boss's question was straight to the point. Well Uncle Boss things get going tonight here at the Boar's Nest.

Later that night the Boar's Nest was busy with people dancing, drinking, and relaxing as they listened to the jukebox. Caroline strolled in among the crowd of people who did little to notice her. As she sat on the empty barstool, she was greeted by Daisy who remembered her from earlier in the day. Well hello again. What can I get you? Caroline hesitated for a moment before she spoke. Oh a beer would be nice. I am Caroline by the way. Daisy finished filling the beer glass then handed the glass over to Caroline. I am Daisy nice to meet you. Caroline. The two women soon became fast friends as they chatted while Daisy filled orders of beer.

Caroline took a sip of beer as she noticed two handsome men one blond and the other one brunette coming over to speak to Daisy. Daisy glanced over at her new friend who curiously watched her cousins. Bo, Luke this is Caroline She is Visiting Hazzard.

Caroline extended a hand toward the two men. It is nice to meet both of you. She smiled. Bo was taking in by Caroline's good looks and down to earth charm. Bo sat down in the empty seat beside Caroline. Luke studied Caroline closely as he couldn't shake the feeling he'd met her before.

Are you visiting Kin in Hazzard? Luke asked as he slid the newly filled beer glass closer to him. Caroline wasn't really wanted to convey that Boss Hogg was her uncle. Just an uncle and aunt she causally answered quickly.

Caroline turned toward Bo who sat watching her as she was speaking to Luke. Do you want to dance Bo? Caroline's question had been exactly what Bo had been exactly what Bo had been thinking about as a fast tune played on the jukebox. Sure. Bo grabbed her hand as the two danced in the crowded bar. Caroline was relieved that Bo had agreeded since it gave her a chance to escape the questions of his cousin. The two hit it off as they spent the night dancing, drinking, and talking well into the early morning.
