Archie's POV
I smiled as I watched my friend drift to sleep. I'm sure she wouldn't mind helping me expand the ocean now that she knows who I am. I smiled even more and layed down on the floor next to the water bed, staring at the roof and thinking of everything I could do with Kara now that I had found her and how we can be better friends than before until I ended up feeling my eyes start to close and I eventually fell asleep as well.

I felt like crying. I didn't want this to be the last time I would see Kara. I struggled against my dad as much as I could, trying to get out of his grip and back into the water with my friend. "I don't want to leave Kara!!" I cried out as I was dragged away from the lake. My parents were also very upset, but there was nothing they could do. We were leaving to Hoenn on a big ship. I tried to convince Kara to swim along with the ship, but she can't leave yet, she's not strong enough and her tail would be dangerous out on the seas. My mom tried to comfort me so I wouldn't be so upset about leaving Kara, saying things like "We will find her, dont worry" and "You'll forget about it soon." None of what she said helped. I cried and clung to my parents hands as we got on the ship leaving for Dewford Island. I stared out at the water as the ship started moving and pulled my friends golden scale out of my pocket. "I'll find you, Kara... even if I have to flood the world for you..." I muttered to myself as I stared at the scale in my hand.

I snapped awake, suprised to see Kara lying on the ground next to me. I moved the covers a bit and noticed that she had grown legs in her sleep. I smiled, she had always been interested in human legs and feet...now she could mess with hers all she wanted!
I layed completely still as Kara started to stir in her sleep but settled again and continued to rest. Did she always do that when she slept? I tried to recall if she had ever done that while we were kids but I could hardly remember much. I sat up and tried to leave the room quietly so I could get her breakfast without waking her, but as soon as I touched the door I heard her moving around. I glanced back to see my friend sitting up, looking somewhat concerned. "You aren't leaving me again, right?" I frowned and walked back over to her. "No, of course not. I'm never leaving you again! I'm just getting breakfast!" I told Kara as I picked her up. She squealed happily and urged me to hurry up and feed her.
As soon as I got into the lobby to put Kara down to get her food, Matt and Shelly gave me funny looks. I rolled my eyes and left for food, Matt following closely behind me. "Hey uh, Archie, bro, uh... you know I'm loyal to you, and I want your dream to happen but... why are you keeping the mermaid that wrecked everything around?? Why are you being so nice to her??" "She's a very old friend of mine, Matt. She's one of the reasons I wanted to expand the ocean. I still want to expand it for pokemon, but I'm glad I have Kara here now." I filled a plate for Kara and walked past Matt, who huffed and ran off to go do whatever work there was for him to do. I sat back with Kara and gave her the plate, she probably could've eaten the plate if she wanted! She seemed hungry enough. I watched her eat before eventually saying, "I need your input for a plan I have..."
