"Work work work work work " Emily took out one of her little sister's earbuds.
"I don't think you're allowed to sing that song" she started to laugh.
"That's not funny!" her sister shouted, "Hey did mom leave for work work work work work?" Emily asked.
"No and shut up, alright?"
"Layla!"
"Yes?"
"Watch your mouth!"said their mom coming down the stairs .
"I'm thirteen" Layla said, their mom stared at her.
"Excuse me? "
" I mean, I'll watch my mouth"
"Thank you."
"I have a present for both of you!" said their mom.
"Oooooh" Emily and Layla said.
"Me first!" said Layla.
"Ok close your eye's... Ready?... Open!"
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh a brand new credit card!" Layla looked at her mom. "You must really love me." she said then gave her a hug.
"Ha I already got one of those." Emily teased her sister Layla stuck her tongue out at her.
"Ok Emily are you ready for yours"
"Is it a car?" Emily said.
"Nope." said her mother smirking.
"Than no, I'm not ready".
"Oh come, here."
"Ok" Emily said sadly.
"Ok, you were my first born-"
Layla interrupted "Ha you get a lecture."
"You know i can take away that card anytime I want to." said her mom.
"so Mom...?
"Ok like I was saying you were my first born and I watched you grow and become a young lady and oh nevermind what I was trying to say was you're eighteen now and it's time I, she paused for a moment it's time I let you have a boyfriend" Layla choked on her water.
"AHHH!"she screamed to the top of her lungs. "Are you kidding me? This must be a joke where are the camera's?" Emily said.
"I'm not kidding, but trust me you're not going to be throwing yourself at boys and acting all different, ok?" her mom said in a serious tone.
"I promise mom I'll be your little girl like have been but promise me if I do find a boyfriend trust me you won't be all weird if you ever meet him" said Emily.
"I promise"
"Wait this is not fair she's get to date!" Layla said.
"Last time I checked you were thirteen, and in my book that's a very young age, not young enough to not have a credit card, but that can be change very fast" her mom said.
"Never mind" said Layla, her mom nodded her head.
"Ok girls it's time to go to school."
" Wait mom"
"Yes Emily"
"Is there like, ummm a certain day I can start dating?"
"Just because i'm in a good mood i'm going to say no"
