The female robot known as Nurse Reese walked into Nathan's apartment, not a second later than the stipulated time. She gave her characteristic plastic smile and picked up the syringe containing Nathan's shot from a small green box. Placing the syringe on a small cloth spread on top of a flat surface, she proceeded to put her sterilized gloves on. She dabbed a small piece of cotton wool in a clear liquid contained in a small container within the box, before rubbing the cotton wool against his left shoulder.
"Will you prefer the other shoulder today?" She asked, pausing for a few seconds to await his reply.
"What does it matter to you?" Borgina interjected, before Nathan got the chance to reply.
Sensing there was no need to give a reply, Nurse Reese picked the syringe up and was about to proceed when Nathan stopped her.
"I'll prefer to take the shot on my right shoulder." He instinctively turned around to glance at Borgina's face on his laptop screen. "The left one already hurts from the other shots."
Seeing her 'whatever' face, he made a mental note to ask her what that was all about, later.
Nathan soon felt the sharp prick of the needle, followed immediately by a warm and slightly peppery feeling which faded almost as fast as it came. Nurse Reese helped him to his bed just as the dizziness and nausea kicked in, picking the green box up and making her way towards the door immediately after.
Once at the door, she turned around one last time and smiled at him.
"See you tomorrow, Nathan."
She swiped her card on the door lock, causing it to slide open. The door closed up right after her and Nathan was about to ask Borgina if she could open the door somehow, when the feeling of excitement kicked in. All his questions and discomfort faded away and he was simply... happy.
