Tyler's/Wildcat's POV
I sit in a chair next to Craig's hospital bed, holding his hand in both if mine. He's in a coma. I lift his hand to my forehead and cry for the billionth time. He's been like this for a whole year. A WHOLE FUCKING YEAR!!!!! My poor baby... My poor Mini... My poor Craig... I haven't left this chair for a whole year unless I had to use the bathroom. The doctors bring me food that at merely play with. Every once in a while, when I'm so hungry that I begin to shake, I'll eat a banana, a few strawberries, or some ice cream, but that's it. I think I'm going insane. Just sitting here, waiting. Waiting. Waiting for a miracle. Waiting for my Craig to open his hazel eyes. Waiting to hear my Craig's soothing voice. Waiting. Time crawls by like a snail trying to climb Mount Everest. It's hard. It's so, so hard. But I refuse to give up on him. No matter how long it takes. I will never give up on my precious Mini. We'll overcome this... Together. Like we always have. To pass the time, I'll go back to the times when Craig and I were younger. The happier days. The easier days.

Flash Back 12 years ago
"Hey mommy! Can I go to the playground today?" Tyler's 8-year- old self begged his mother. "Yes, but you better be back before dark." His mother replied with a warm smile, giving him $10 so he could stop by the ice cream cart that he always loved to go to. "Thank you!" Tyler said before dashing out the door. Once Tyler got to the playground he did as any 8-year-old kid would do... Play. He giggles and laughs as he runs back and forth, sliding down the slide every once in a while. "Stop it! Give him back!" The voice of another child echoes throughout the playground. Tyler stops and investigates the noise. There was a little boy wearing glasses around his age, sitting on the ground crying. There was 3 big kids surrounding him, one of them holding onto a pig plushie. "Please give Wildcat back! What did he ever do to you?!" The little boy bawled. "Shut up, you big baby!" The boy holding the pig ordered. "Hey! Stop that! Leave him alone or I'm telling!" Tyler yelled as he approached the bigger children. "No! We're sorry! We'll leave him alone! Please don't tell on us!" The bullies pleaded. "Okay, but you better leave before I change my mind!" Tyler warned them. They all run away, leaving the pig behind. They boy grabbed the pig plushie and hugged it tightly. Tyler walks over to the boy and holds his hand out for him to grab. "I'm Tyler, what's your name?" Tyler asked the smaller child. He looked up at him and gave him a big smile before taking his hand. Tyler pulled him up of of the ground. "I'm Craig and this is Wildcat! Thank you for helping us!" The boy said, holding up the pig. "Nice to meet you! Do you want to be friends?" Tyler questioned, returning Craig's smile. "Yes! I would love to be your friend!" Craig squealed with excitement. Tyler looked down at his pocket and got an idea. "Hey! My mom gave me some money for some ice cream! Do you want me to buy you some?" Tyler asked. "Yes! I love ice cream!"

Tyler and Craig sat on Tyler's couch, eating ice cream and playing Call of Duty. "Holy crap! I just 360 no scoped that guy! Did you see that, Wildca- I mean Tyler?!" Craig exclaimed with joy and shock. "Wait, were you just about to call me Wildcat? Isn't that the name of your old pig stuffed animal?" Tyler laughed. "Yeah, hehe, sorry. I still have him, but I don't play with him any more." Craig explained, blushing with embarrassment. "Cool! I don't want you to lose him! Wildcat reminds me of when we first met." Tyler said as he grabbed his spoon and scooped up a chunk of ice cream from the tub he and Craig were sharing. It's strawberry and banana flavored, Craig's favorite. "Wildcat... That has a nice ring to it. Hey Tyler! I'm going to start calling you Wildcat!" Craig said. "Why?" Tyler questioned with an eyebrow raised. "Because! I don't want to forget the day we first met, and if Wildcat helps remind you of the day you saved me from those bullies, than it's the perfect way to never forget!" Craig explained before grabbing his spoon and getting a big scoop of ice cream and eating it all in one bite. "That's actually not a bad idea... Good thinking, Cra-"
"Ahh!!! Brain freeze!"
Tyler laughed as his best friend rubbed his temples in pain.

"Okay Tyler, don't fuck this up! Today is the day you tell Craig how you feel about him. You've got this, Wildcat." Tyler told himself before staring at the door of Craig's house. He looks down at the bouquet of flowers he picked out for Craig, now nicknamed Mini, thinking about all the things that could go wrong if he knocks on the door. Tyler took a few deep breathes before making the decision that would change both his and Craig's life forever. He knocked on the wooden door. He waited a few moments before the face he's loved since he was 8 answered the door. "W-Wildcat? What's with the flowers?" Craig asked his best friend. "Oh, uh, they're uh... They're for you." Tyler managed to say, a nervous reck. "Oh! Thank you." Craig said, growing slightly nervous himself. "Uh, I'm going to say this and you're probably going to hate me forever, but... I've fallen in love with you... I know it's w-weird, but I can't help it. I love you, Craig." Tyler admitted with a sheepish smile. Craig didn't answer, but he did something even better. He kissed him. Craig wrapped his arms around Tyler's neck as Tyler wrapped his arms around Craig's waist. "I love you too."

"Hehe, I tried to tell you, babe! Evan and Jonathan are sneaky little fuckers!" Tyler laughed while keeping his eyes on the road. "Yeah, when I already opened the door!" A soaked Mini whined. Jonathan and Evan had come up with a prank to pull on Craig. They told us to come visit their house and they filled a bucket of water and put it on top of the door so when he opened it the water dumped all over him. "Hey, better than nothing, right?" Tyler laughed as he stopped at a red light. He is driving Craig back to their house so he could dry off and get some different clothes on. "Humph." Craig pouted with his arms crossed. "How about I take you on a date to make it up to you?" 19-year-old Wildcat questioned with a smug grin. "Yes!" Craig said with excitement as the light turned grin. Little did I know my world would come crashing down the moment I put my foot on the gas. "Tyler! A car!" Craig's scared voice screamed, but it was too late. We were t-boned by a truck. All I could here was ringing in my ears. I look over to see my Mini unconscious in the passenger seat. The truck hit us from the right, so Craig was hurt the most. "Craig! Craig, wake up! Craig!" I called, but I could hardly hear my own voice. Darkness.
End of Flash Backs
More tears stream down my face as I think of all the memories we had together. When? When will the torture end? How much longer do I have to wait? How many more tears do I have to cry. When will I ever be able to wake up from this awful nightmare? I let go with one of my hands, still leaving one in Craig's. Of course, he isn't holding my hand back, but it's the thought that counts. I use my free arm as a pillow ann I lay my head on the side of Craig's bed. My eyelids grow heavier as I begin to fall asleep, prepared to end another day of torture just to begin a new one. I close my eyes and drift off into slumber when I feel something move in my hand. My eyes jolt open as I watch as Craig's pale, boney fingers wrap themselves around my own. He's awake. "He's awake!!! Craig's awake!!! I need a doctor!!!" I exclaim as I stand up from the lonely chair that has imprisoned me for a whole year. I look down at my baby as his eyes flutter open. "T-Tyler?" He questions. Tears fall down my face like waterfall when I hear the voice I've missed so much. "Yes, Craig! It's me! I'm here!" I say with joy lacing my every word. "What happened? Where am I?" He asks as e looks around the room. "You're in the hospital, but that doesn't matter right now! You're awake!" I shout. "I'm awake? W-Well how long was I asleep?" Craig asks, oblivious to the situation we were in. "One year." I answer him. His eyes grow wide, but before either of us could say anything else the doors swung open. Doctors rush in and force me out of the room and into a chair that sat across from the door. I sit impatiently, waiting for the doors to open to reveal my sweet little Mini. An hour or so passes when the doctors come out of the room with Craig wearing new clothes leaning on the door frame. I rush to his side and pick him up bridal-style, swinging him around in circles. We can finally go home! We can finally see our friends! We can finally live happily together! We're free from this wretched hospital! I stop spinning him around and give him the most passionate kiss I can give. Later, we check out of the hospital and get into an Uber. "So, now what do we do?" Craig asks. I think for a moment and smile. "Let's go get some ice cream."
How was that for my first one-shot ever?
