“Mesumi time for breakfast”

Mesumi came out of her bathroom to see her bedroom dor open revealing a pale woman with long black hair in a suite and shining blue eyes. Mesumi looked at the woman in and her face twist in distaste despite the sweet smile that played upon the womans lips.

“Come now dear, you know you have to go to school today you missed out all of last week we know what happened affected you but you have to go to school.”

Ignoring the woman, Mesumi walks over and sits on her bed staring past her thin lavender curtains hanging by swaying lightly in the morning breeze. Her mind wonders for a moment shd she forgets the woman is stil standing in her room talking, she picks at the rays that are being cast into the room by the run pushing through the curtains causing little lights to rest on her white sheets.

“ Honey ae you listening. I know its hard but I and everyone else was affected and were slowlyputting it behind us its what he would have wanted, its not healthy what your are doing and we all think it's time to stop it's time to move on, it was his time so let it …”

realizing that Mesumi was not paying attention to what she was saying she halts and decides to leave the conversation for another time. Ever since the death of her grandfather Mesumi has shut down and distanced herself from her family. It has been 2 years now and while she has gotten better the family thinks something inside her broke that no one knows how to mend.

After the long silence Suki holds her head down in resignation and tells her to be ready so that her father could drop her to school and she disappeared closing the door.

In a few minutes Mesumi got ready and went down stairs and into the kitchen which was a good length from the stairs through the living room where her father was packing his briefcase.

“Good Morning”, he said

She halts a moment but the tension for that one moment was still burning inside her, “Morning” and she disappeared through the door before he could get another word in, it had become a habbit anytime anyone saw her to draw up a long lecture to tell her what she should or should not do.

When Mesumi entered the kitchen her mom was around the table sipping her cup of coffee her small hands curled lightly around its hard ceramic body.

“Your breakfast is on the table, asks your dad for your lunch money ok” Mesumi took the breakfast which was only a waffle and two bacons said thanks and left.

Mesumi went outside quickly seeing dad in the car, she hurried in and took the front seat and he drove off. They didn’t talk much in the car considering that he was on his phone the ride all the way to school compared to the peace and quiet she is usualy denied. They pulled up in front of the school moments later and Mesumi got out of the car, went around to his window. He rolled it down.

“Mom said you were to give me lunch money”

He opened his change pan and pulled out 800 YEN and gave it to Mesumi then waved and drove off the second Mesumi stepped away from the car still talking on his phone. “Sometimes I think mans biggest sin is technology”

She walked up to the school scattered with chattering children and looked up at it’s name in bright blue Metil High School and she sighed, “if I was in something so tragic why would they think sending me back to this school especially would make me feel better… parents.”

“Mesumi …Mesumi!”

She turned around to see a girl with sand blonde shoulder lenght hair and green eyes running towards her; the girl’s tie pulled down in an untidy way and her short plaid green and burgundy skirt swishing about her tanned legs.
