Cinder sat in the small prison room, the stone-cold walls and floors caging her in. The metal bars blocked her exits and concealed her from the light that she so badly wanted. It had been 5 months since Flint's death, and man did she not take it well. Her tears had long since dried, but she still suffered from mild attacks. They hit her out of nowhere, racking her body with waves of depression.
In fact, one hit her now. She merely lied down on the bed, then cried her heart out into the disgusting pillow that offered itself. She'd been in jail for only a few days, but the isolation from the sun was driving her insane. She needed to feel the sun's light against her skin, the heat transferring between cells and being absorbed by her body. She longed for it as the tears made their tragic way down, landing gently on the pillow without much sound.
"Cinder." A male voice said behind her. She could hear the pity already spreading through his voice, but she didn't turn around. She didn't care enough.
"Cinder." The man called out once more. She knew the voice. After all, how do you forget the voice of the person who was bent on making sure you didn't kill thousands?
"What, Ozpin." Cinder called, somehow making her voice clear.
"You can leave now. We won your case." Ozpin said, gesturing to the open jail door. A security guard stood near the door, the keys to lock the cell still in his hands.
"When did they open the door cell?" Cinder thought to herself as she slowly got up from her metal bed, then wiped her eyes. She followed Ozpin out of the jail, her old clothes neatly folded and handed back to her. Her orange jumpsuit looked absolutely hideous on her, making her look like she gained much more weight.
After entering the bathroom and changing, she met Ozpin outside of the jail. He was standing near his car, smiling as his eyes landed on her.
Once they were in the car and driving away, Cinder asked the question that had been burning in her mind.
"Where is she?" Cinder asked, her eyes still gazing out the window. Ozpin smiled once again, then answered her question.
"She's with Lillianna, Flint's sister. I'm sure you've met he-"
"I know her. When am I going to be able to see my daughter?" Cinder asked, not even the slightest interest in Lilly.
"We can go and see her after this." Ozpin said as he pulled up to a curb and parked the car perfectly. Cinder looked at him now, a confused expression on her face.
"This? What do you mean by 'This'?" Cinder asked as they both stood out of the car.
"You may want to see for yourself." Ozpin replied, the smile dropping and his eyes changing from the light toned they'd always were to a more serious version. He began walking to the building, a small Square base which supported a hollow dome at the top, a building of which Cinder hadn't even noticed they'd drove up to.
Curious, she followed him inside. The building had marble floors, blue marble walls to match, and was very spacious. Except for the man standing in the middle of the building.
"Qrow, how have you been?" Ozpin greeted, a serious tone still present in his light voice.
"You mean besides getting my ass kicked? Oh fine, just fine Ozpin." Qrow's eyes suddenly landed on Cinder, and as a result he ended up looking back at Ozpin for answers.
"What's she doing here?" Qrow asked accusingly.
"She is here for a reason. Now, describe the events just as I asked." Ozpin said, his hands folding behind his back once more.
"I was in Atlas, looking for information. Rumors had been going around, something about a ressurection." Cinder's eyes and ears popped up upon hearing the words "Resurrection."
"It was late at night. Around 11PM. I was out on the streets, wondering around looking for something and I see soldiers standing in front of a warehouse. Now, being the handsome ninja I am, I make it past their defenses with no one wounded or killed. What do I say being created? Thousands of Atlas Soldiers being created, the mechanical robots all armed with guns. Before I know it, three of those bots showed up behind me. They nearly kicked my ass, but I took care of 'em. Just three bots. Three bots nearly tool me out. Ozpin, Ironwood is going to start a war." Qrow said seriously. Ozpin shook his head, as if he was expecting his answer. Now, he turned to Cinder. His eyes were full of questions, but he merely asked one.
"Cinder, please explain to me how you and Flint met."
