Soon they all got tired. "I can't run anymore." Ella said as she started walking. "We've barely gone anywhere!" Harley said. "I'm tired too." Marionette joined in. Harley sighed. "Fine, we'll walk." She groaned. They walked for a few minutes until they heard a car coming behind them. "Oh! Someone's coming! Maybe they can help!" Ella said happily. Marionette looked far down the road and saw the driver had his head out the window. Then she recognized him as one of the robbers. "It's the robbers!!" She yelled. Harley looked around desperately. "There! Run to the woods!" She demanded. All three ran straight into the deep forest. No car could get through with all the trees. After a few minutes of running, Marionette tripped. Ella struggled to help her up. "My foot's stuck!" Marionette yelled, trying to get her foot out of the tree root. Then they heard yelling behind them. Marionette's heart raced again as she saw the robbers running towards them. Harley quickly took out a pocket knife and started cutting at the root. Eventually it snapped and they started running as fast as they could. Then, Harley and Ella fell into a deep hole. It was more like a hidden trap since their whole bodies were under the earth. Marionette, not knowing they fell, continued running. She soon hid behind a tree to catch her breath. There she sat, shivering with fear and coldness, behind a tree, in purple moonlight. She stared at the moon above her. Then she realized her friends were gone and she was alone. 'I'm alone...there are killers out here and my friends might be dead...I'm gonna die tonight...' She thought as she was filled with a mix of rage, fear, and depression. She growled as tears went down her face. "CURSE YOU PURPLE MOOOOONN!!!" She screamed at a volume she didn't even know she could yell at. The next thing was the simplest and calmest thing imaginable for that situation: darkness.
