Dusty Rhodes, the self proclaimed common man was a very inspirational part of my life. The quote "I've wined and dined with kings and queens, I've slept in alleys and dined on pork and beans" inspired me most of all. Mainly because of the strong drive he portrayed while delivering this promo.

Dusty Rhodes came from a fairly poor background, Texas born and breed. Rhodes died at the age of 69 from stomach cancer. Paramedics found him unresponsive at his home in Orlando, Florida. He died June 11th 2015, at the 2015 Royal Rumble there was a ten-bell salute in honor of the American Dream, Dusty Rhodes.

His finisher was the American Dream Elbow (Elbow Drop), he happened to manage three very successful wrestlers: Dustin Rhodes (his son), Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall. He was in various wrestling promotions including GCW, BKW, FCW, and the WWE.
