Albus' POV

It was my first school day at Hogwarts, and I had to make sure that I wasn't late for Transfiguration. Apparently the new teacher, Professor Hartwell, was really strict. I got woke up and got dressed into my Hogwarts robes and red Gryffindor tie, I will love you forever tie. I grabbed my book and stuffed it into my bag which already had a quill, ink, and other stuff in it. Dad had managed to get me a peacock quill, I really love my dad, and he said he got it from a man named Gilderoy Lockheart.

I managed to get to the Transfiguration room using James' directions. He tricked me the first time and as I was leaving he yelled at me, saying I had to pay him 1 Galleon for directions, seeing that maps were 2 Galleons... it was a good-ish deal. Professor Hartwell was a middle aged woman, with hair that was beginning to grey. She was wearing topaz blue robes which actually looked quite pretty. She had her hair in a tight bun, like Professor McGonagall had.

"Welcome class, I am Professor Hartwell, and will be teaching you Transfiguration. Right then, today we sol be reading from the textbook. Page 6 of your textbook; keep reading for the rest of lesson."

I was glad to be out of that lesson, I mean, who cares, well I guess it might be useful...but still, reading isn't Transfiguration, its reading. Duh! My next lesson was double Potions, with Slytherin, :( I guess if anyone annoyed me, I'll always have a Bat Bogey hex, my mums the only one who taught me a useful spell. I mean, it's not like I'll ever have to lift something in the air in first year is it, and I'm really going to duel someone aren't I.

I headed to potions with Rose, seeing as she was the only one I actually knew and that was in my class, if you don't count Malfoy. We went in and were greeted by Professor Slughorn. He made us all sit down around a table. On my table there was me, Rose, a few other Gryffindors and some Slytherins, including Malfoy. Ugghh. Why did I feel he was following me around?

"Welcome, welcome. I am Professor Slughorn, and today we will be making a simple antidote. Turn to page 6 of your textbooks and begin!" Everyone began to get to work slowly; it was a double lesson after all. "Oh and I have a small vial of Felix Felicis potion, or as it is more commonly known, Liquid Luck." He added with a smile. Ha-ha everyone began to work so much faster. I knew Rose'd win, she's so smart. At the end of the lesson, it was only a few people who managed to make it properly, but some Slytherin person got it, poor Rose.

We left feeling bored, not Rose though, obviously, she was happy. "I wish we could have stayed a bit longer," she said. She's strange; sometimes she's really nerdy, no offence, and sometimes she couldn't care less. Dad said it was because her mum was smart and her dad a rebel. It's scary sometimes though. Just then, we found our path blocked by Malfoy.

"I guess we meet again," he said maliciously.

"Get out the way," I muttered.

"No, I want a rematch."

"Get out the way."

"Sure," he said sarcastically, rolling his eyes "never."

"Ugh, you will learn again," I performed a bat bogey hex again, but he dodged it. At least he learnt; never make the same mistake twice. He then hit me with a curse I didn't recognise. I was dueling, aha, "Expelliarmus!" I yelled. He was thrown violently backwards, ha loser. But it didn't last for long, he hit me back with another random spell, and I was running out of spells. I only knew Wingardium Leviosa, and I had to use it. And I levitated him up and out of the way, I crossed the corridor and put him down; hard, not too hard though, otherwise he would go the hospital wing and blab.

"Wow," said Rose in awe.

"What?" I asked, confused.

"Malfoy's supposed to be like dark, and know loads of deadly spells, but you beat him with just a simple levitating spell, which is amazing. I heard about it, here are rumours you know."

"I'm glad I didn't know, otherwise I would be scared to death before I even duelled him and we would be in the Hospital Wing now." I concluded. Rose smiled and skipped off to the Common Room, leaving me.

"Hi," said the boy I had met in my dorm, what was his name...something Finnigan? I wanted to ask him why he'd disappeared last night.

"Hi, sorry about my brother last night, he's a bit full of himself, you know," I smiled.

"Nah, its fine, I have a sister in 5th year, she's the same, always bouncy and full of energy. I've learnt how to creep away silently and quickly, like a ninja!" He did a funny ninja pose, I had to laugh. "Sorry, her strange habits must have rubbed off on me after a whole summer!"

"Ha-ha, I guess I must be somehow similar to my brother seeing as my dad had decided that he would only let us share a room if he wanted the house demolished!" I laughed remembering that moment at the station.

"That sounds like you and your brother can be a bit more than mischievous sometimes." He said, laughing.

"Come on, let's go to lunch, or we'll be late, I like my food."

He laughed, but agreed.

Me and Thomas, I found out his name, were really good friends, and were impossible to tear apart, even Rose couldn't do it. She'd said that the moment she learnt a spell that could take two objects (unfortunate emphasis on the 'objects') apart, she'd use it on us. We all had Charms next, so off we went.

We sat together and Professor Flitwick introduced himself like all the other teachers had and we got stuck straight in. He taught us Wingardium Leviosa, ha, me and Rose already knew it, and I'd done it a while ago. We quickly lifted the feather high above our heads, which meant explaining to Professor Flitwick that yes Aunt Hermione was Rose's mum, my aunt, and that yes she had taught us how to do it perfectly. I guess it wasn't such a waste of time after all!

After that we had a couple more lessons, and dinner and then bed. I was exhausted!
