An introduction

The sound of a constant 'beeeepp.........beeeepp.............beeeepp!!!!!! Has there ever been a more irritating sound that meets ones ear. The sound of that repetitive heart monitor, sitting to the side of some ill person, forced to make there way to the busy,sweaty NHS hospital. An old guitar, strumming along to a slightly painful version of 'Don't stop me now' by Queen is in the background. The cat strangled voice in which is singing the famous lyrics seems deep, worn and croaky. A shrill toned voice, shrieking and complaining about something or other over her brand new apple iPhone.

They think I can't hear what they say. They believe I am oblivious to my surroundings. Senseless. But I tell you, I have sniffed a few whiffs. Oh I know when I am being whispered about or smiled upon. I enjoy the fact that they are so tied up in their own lives to even consider to turn around and check on me and notice my slightly evil smirk at their pointless quarrels.

The down side to my situation is whenever I have a slight niggling itch at the back of my neck, I am restricted to my current position. I can feel a clump of eye dust resting on my eyelid, yet I cannot brush it away.

My eyes flash open wide and awake. The bright light blinds me as my pupils shrink and my eyes narrow into a squint. I try to form a word in my mouth but my lips act as guards to the outside world. This results in my face being screwed up into a duck/pought face. I hear the same high pitched squeak of a voice cooing over my deformed face. She squawked "Andrew! Andrew come and look at this!"

I see a perfectly preened and dolled up woman looming over me. "Shut up Katherine!"

A dark voice says from a corner of the room. "S...ss...s..sorry." the woman said, quivering.

She didn't seem so springy any more. "W....w...wwwell just look darling dearest she's moving her lips, she's trying to make a kiss! Her eyes are open!"
