"Is he going to be okay?" Sera asked while looking at Alexei. He must do one hundred push-ups as his punishment.

"He can handle it. Despite his thin body, he is strong," Vysenna answered.

"Can I become your apprentice too? Like Alexei?"

Vysenna gave her a warm smile. "Sure, if you want to. But why do you suddenly want to be my apprentice? Don't you want to find your Mom?"

Sera played her hands while answering the questions. "I'm sure you know why. Marc probably will never come back. So does my Mom. She won't be looking for me. Besides, I have nowhere to go anyway."

"If Marc and your mom didn't come here, why don't you go and find them by yourself?"

"You can take me home?"

"Yes, I can but I do not know whether they will accept you or not. What if they don't and they leave you all alone again in another alley?"

"Then teach me magic. If I have magic, they will never abandon me again, right?" Sera said with a bunch of faith shown in her eyes.

'This girl is something.' Vysenna laughed as that thought crossed her mind.

"Okay, little warrior. First, we must find out how to awaken your magic." She patted her head. "The second show will begin and I will be busy for a while. So, please stay here with Alexei and make sure he does his one hundred push-ups. Oh... enjoy the show!"

Vysenna gave her a wink before took her leave.

"Do you know why I insist on watching the show?" Sera talked suddenly.

Alexei shook his head while he leaned his body against the wall, exhausted because the 'one hundred' push-ups he did before.

"How can I know?"

"My Mom was a dancer before she married to my Dad. She loves to dance. She always goes to any dance party. Sometimes I accompany her. I love to see her dance. She looks so happy. So, every time I see someone is dancing, I always thought that it was my Mom." She said while her eyes still locked at those dancers who were performing. She was hypnotized by their elegant movement.

"Why don't you learn to dance instead of learning magic?"

"I do but my Mom wants me to be a knight or at least a magician."

"Only boys like me who can be a knight."

"I don't care! I must learn magic and soon become a knight"

"But Master said that she must find out how to awaken your magic. So, I thought that you haven't awakened yet?"

"I have but the magician said that I don't have any magic in my body."

"WHAT?!"

Alexei opened the door violently, making Sera who was still asleep suddenly woke up. "Wake up, Seraphine! The others are waiting for you to eat."

"Ugh, the sun doesn't even rise!"

"Do you wish for Master Vysenna to punish you?"

Hearing those words was enough to make her eyes wide open. She got up and ran ahead, leaving Alexei behind. She arrived on the first floor and walked quickly into the kitchen.

"Good morning," Vysenna said. "Come here. Let me introduce you to my family."

There were around twenty people who were in the kitchen. The largest room in the entire inn was apparently not large enough to accommodate them. Some of them were sitting around the dining table while the others standing nearby. Their eyes showed that their stomach couldn't bear the hunger anymore and it was made them look scarier.
