Chapter 9

Kiera's POV

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

I woke up and saw everyone standing in my room smiling.

"Thanks." I said sitting up while rubbing my eyes.

"Well c'mon! We gotta eat and get dressed so we can go shopping!" Emmy excitedly said.

I laughed.

"Okay okay everyone leave so I can get ready!" I said pulling back the covers and standing up.

Everyone walks out the door except for Greg.

He walks over to me with his hands behind his back.

"Happy birthday babe." He said smiling before pressing his lips to mine.

"Thanks." I pulled away smiling.

"I have a present for you." He told me pulling a light blue small box tied with a ribbon out from behind his back.

"Aww Greg you didn't have to." I say.

"No I wanted to get it for you. C'mon open it." He replied pushing it into my hands.

I carefully undo the bow and look inside.

I gasped. "Greg I love it!" I said while pulling the gift out of its box.

It was a silver necklace with a heart pendant covered with rhinestones.

I gave hugged him tightly.

"Ill put it on you." He said smiling.

Once he put it on I hugged him again.

"Thank you so much." I said touching the necklace.

"Anything for you." He said looking into my eyes.

"Okay now leave so I can change!" I said with a laugh.

"Alright alright ill go." He said smiling.

Once he shut the door I took a quick shower and got dressed.

I put on a pair of dark skinny jeans, a greenish blue shirt with silver skulls on it, my black converse, and put my hair in a sloppy side braid and I walked out of the room.

"Alright lets go!" Maya said smiling.

Me, Abby, Nicole, Alex, Beca, Maya, and Emmy all grabbed our purses and wallets and headed to the nearest mall.

Greg's POV

"So what are we gonna do later for Kiera's birthday?" Kayden asked me.

They were very close and I knew they love each other like siblings.

"I don't know yet." I reply trying to think of something.

"Well there's movies, clubs, resteraunts, stuff like that." Jesse suggested.

"We should go to a club!" I say excitedly.

"Yeah that would be fun." Donald agreed.

I got out my phone and texted Kiera.

Greg: Hey Kiera:) so 2nite me and the guys thought we could go to a club all together. would you want to do that? It is ur bday so u decide.

I hit send and a few minutes later get a reply.

Kiera: Me and the girls think that will be great:) sounds fun!

I smiled. I was excited.

Kiera's POV

We get back to the cabin and all go to our rooms to get ready to go out later.

I just finished doing my hair in a waterfall wrap around braid when there is a knock on the door.

I open it and Maya walks in.

"Hey girl." I say smiling.

"Heyyy. Open this." She said handing me a present.

"Maya you know you didn't have to."I explain.

"Kiera. You're my best friend and we are legit family. There's no way you aren't getting a present from me." She replied smiling.

"Haha your right." I reply and open the box she handed me.

Inside lay a pair of gorgeous earrings. They were silver and sparkly and in the shape of music notes.

"Oh my gosh Maya they're perfect! Thanks boo." I say hugging her.

I'm glad she's my best friend. I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm even happier she's family because I know no matter what, we'll always be close.

"No problem girl. And all the girls helped buy them too but I picked them out and paid the most by the way." She said giving a sly smile.

"Haha ok. Sounds legit." I say grinning.

"Ok well I'm gonna get ready now." Maya said walking out the door.

"Same." I say heading towards the bag that had the new outfit I was gonna wear.

I quickly got dressed and inspected myself in the mirror.

I was wearing a light blue dress with black leggings, silver heels, the earrings from maya, a few silver bracelets, and of course the necklace from Greg.

I grab my phone and I'm ready.

We've been at the club for a few hours just dancing and having fun.

I sit back down at the table and see Greg sitting there having a drink.

"Hey Greg, don't have too much to drink okay?" I tell him.

"Don't worry I'm fine!" He assured me.

I get back up and dance. Awhile later we all get tired and decide its time to leave but Abby keeps dancing.

"Abby we're heading back, you coming?" I ask her.

"Nah I'll get a cab back. I wanna stay a little longer." She told me.

"Okay have fun!" I say smiling.

I go back to the table to get Greg.

As I approach I see many empty glasses that I knew were all his.

"Greg what did I tell you?" I ask annoyed.

"Hey Babeeee." He said smiling slurring his words a little bit.

I could tell he was drunk.

"Greg we're going back okay?" I ask leaning close to him so he can hear me.

"One more drink!" He whines.

"No Greg lets go." I say sternly.

"You're no fun! You're such a bitch I have no idea why I ever decided to go after you or ask you out. I wish I never did." He said angrily.

I felt the tears sting in my eyes. That really hurt. I kept it in.

"Fine Greg but you're finding your own way back." I say heading towards the door.

When we get back I don't say a word to anybody I just grab my bags from me and Greg's room and bring them to the spare room. I didn't want to be there when he got back.

I got changed and took off my necklace. I looked down at it. I can't believe so much changed in a day. Going from feeling the happiest I've ever been to wishing we never went on this trip. I leave it in Greg's room not wanting to see it.

I climb into the bed alone and try to fall asleep.

I thought about Greg. How someone can make me the happiest person ever but can hurt me the most.

And that scared me.
