Gerard's POV

Mikey and I walked on the footpath covered with a thin blanket of snow with the concrete only peeking from underneath towards Frank's house. It wasn't very far, just 10 houses away. Each exhale creating small clouds of warm air.

After passing the dull houses and talking about unpopular comic book characters, we've finally reached his house.

I turned to face Frank's house and I heard Mikey giggle. Confused, I turned to see what he found so funny but before I could even look at him though the corner of my eyes, they were covered with woolly, knitted gloves. I stiffened and a childish "guess who" was sung into my left ear.

I slumped back to my original stance and broke into a toothy smile.

"Fraaaank." I said in mock-annoyance.

"Aaawwwwww." He mock-complained in the same childish tone and moved back creating a small distance one would make to create conversation. Mikey just doing weird shit in the snow.

He may look like an innocent goof but he's actually an evil genius.

"We seriously need to do something about those dicks that throw shit at us." Frank said as we both watched Mikey.

"Seriously." I nodded. There are some high school delinquents that chuck food at us, no biggie, we love having random food being thrown at us as we eat our own! Ray even got hit in the face by a grape. Sure, we'd just throw it back but the thing is we're already being humiliated enough we don't need to be anymore if we decide to try and miss.

"I reckon we just need to work on our aim." I stated honestly.

"We?" He questioned suspiciously.

I narrowed my eyes at him as I observed him patting something in his hands.

"Yes, we." I confirmed still in question and looked over to Mikey just to check on him. When I hear Frank say something surprising me.

"Oh no, it's just you." I look over to see a quick glimpse of his stupid little grin before something cold and a little hard slaps me and crumbles to white pieces.

Oh, you annoying little fucker.

I shake the last little pieces of white off of the red hair leaking out from under my grey beanie and lean down to grab a handful of snow and shape it into a ball but just when I'm about to throw it, Frank's already meters away so I run to catch up with him leaving Mikey to do whatever the fuck he was doing.

I gradually caught up to Frank and he spun around with a new snowball in hand and we took up our stances. I chucked mine first and it landed right beside his foot and he laughed, that sound ringing through my ears, there was something about that laugh but I don't know what.

I cursed under my breath remembering that he still has his snowball. I started running back towards where Mikey is as I saw the little white ball pass by my shoulder.

Haha, he missed.

I turned my head grinning and sticking my tongue out when another snowball appeared out of nowhere and hit me on the leg, the surprise causing me to trip over and land on my back.

Well it didn't come from Frank because he fell onto me unaware of what just happened and why I tripped. He lifted his head and we were caught in an awkward moment, face to face with each other.

I heard padded footsteps in the snow moving closer towards us and suddenly Frank's face was pushed harshly into mine but Frank didn't move back. He didn't want to and neither did I. So we eased up, I placed my hands on his hips and he grabbed the collar of my jacket and just let our lips link together and our friendship became something greater.

This was the closest we could get and wanted to get, we just didn't know until now.

He finally pulled back after the soft kiss that warmed our lips in the chilled winter air.

"Gerard..." He said in a shaky voice mixed with cold and nervousness.

"What, Frankie?" I asked in a low hushed tone.

"I think I'm gay and in love with you." We smiled and I chuckled at how he came out.

I just nodded and said, "me too, Frank, me too."

We spent a few seconds of intimacy just staring into each other's eyes until Frank got up and pulled me along with him.

"YES!!!" We looked towards Mikey who seemed to be celebrating with his arms in the air, running in a circle with his glasses bobbing up and down on his nose.

"Little shit wanted us to cannon." I laughed at Frank's half-annoyed, half-joking statement.

We entwined our gloved fingers together and just let Mikey frolic in the snow as we sat on the small wooden staircase of Frank's porch. I leant my head on his shoulder and he leant his head over mine and we watched my brother dance around in the snow like our hearts did so in our chest.

Winter wasn't always my favourite season but I guess that's changed.
