Mel

I rolled over on the side of my bed and put my arm over the bed and saw my dog quickly race over to me to lick my pale fingers. "Hey Buddy," I said to the big brown beast. He tried to move over to my face and I quickly sat up so he couldn't lick it. "School," I whispered to myself as I realized what I had going on today. I walked over to my white dresser and pulled out a pair of black shorts and a blue t-shirt. I threw them on before walking over to my bedroom door. I started to open it before I heard voices on the other side and glanced over at my clock, 7:15am. I leaned against the door and listened to the arguing on the other side. "Do it," One voice order the other. "No you," the other replied before I cracked open the door and saw my two brothers fighting. I had an older brother named Dominic and a twin brother named James, which meant there was never any quiet in my house. To make all that worse, I lived with my dad. So I was always surrounded by boys. I moved the door opened and walked over to the bathroom, slipping past my brothers, and closed the door behind me. I put my phone up on the shelf and played some music from my playlist, like every morning. I pulled out my makeup and did simple school makeup before pulling my dark brown hair back into a ponytail.

I yawned as I sat down in my science class. "Tired?" Asked my friend Claire as she sat down next to me. Her short blonde hair was all curled up with a pink ribbon. "Horribly tired," I replied as I drank some tea I had in a cup that we made in LA, we were reading a book about Britain. "I have something really fun today!" Yelled my teacher as he ran into the room, making me jump out of my seat. "We are going outside," he added, looking around, "Follow me!" I rolled my eyes as I stood up and followed him out the door of our classroom. "Where are we going?" A boy behind me asked. "Probably the creek," I moaned. "Exactly Mel!" The teacher jumped in front of me and I almost screamed. We followed him out the back door and towards the forestry creek. "Collect water samples and leaves," He said to us all and we went into the forest. "I'll go over here," Claire told me as I walked into the woods. "Leaves," I whispered, looking at all of the tall trees. I walked forward before feeling a crunch noise and looking down to see I had stepped on something. I bent down and looked at the wood I stepped on. "Just wood," I said to myself as I looked up before feeling something sharp going into my eyes. I blinked a bunch and sat back. "What the fuck," I called out before looking around and seeing nobody. I sat up but felt different, very different.
