Ash began to fall gently, drifting from the sky. Trees swayed in a forbidding dance, promising nothing but mystery. On a raise of land to big to be a mountain but not small enough to be considered a hill, stood a mansion. An immense mansion taking up most of the area.Vast and old fashioned the mansion was a work a pure beauty.Beauty surrounded by a menacing black gate, encasing the whole dwelling, originally thought to keep people out. Not to keep a person in.
The door was swiftly pulled open wide enough to see out of not in. A arm quickly shot out of the entryway of the chateau soon after. The appendage hurriedly tucked itself back into safety before the whole body was pulled gruffly inside by a large calloused hand.
I growled in frustration before slowly dropping the offending body part of my shoulder. I quickly constructed my face into one of indifference and nonchalance.
"You do know how rude and dangerous it is to touch somebody without their consent who you don't know the sign of ,correct."
"Jax Horace Filler what the hell do you think you were doing trying to leave the establishment. With neither permission nor guidance?"the man roared at the smug face of the boy.
"You haven't answered the question Daniel. Do you know how rude it is?"Daniel face contorted into the one of somebody who given up a long time ago. "Yes, Master Jax I know the rudeness and disrespect in touching a person who has yet to be given their sign without their awareness."
"Good, now what were you saying" he replied condescendingly. Power burned through the eyes of the bodyguard"Why were you trying to leave the establishment."he grunted out between clenched teeth.
To his dismay Jax's smile got even bigger"Because you know as well as I do it is my" and with a flourish "destiny"
Daniel clenched his teeth even tighter at that word"Young Master Jax, you know little to nothing of what you speak of" he paused a slow thoughtful pause" unless you know your sign of course."
Disregarding the final part of his dictum, this time it was Jax who spoke through clenched teeth. Raw power punctuating every word "Don't. Ever. Insult. My. Intelligence. Again." Daniel cautiously nodded"Calm down, calm down" my inner voice whispered to me. "What good would it bring if the knew the secrets I have tried to keep for so long."
"Even if you did managed to get out of the establishment I would still find you. Unless of course you managed to find the trackers. All of them."
This brought the smug smirk back to Jax's face "Don't try to outsmart a genius, you will only hurt yourself trying."Daniel's own smug smile began to disappear "Care to elaborate?" Jax grinned again.
Before replying in a superior tone "You know I would."
