Not Just A Person

*Prolauge*

      Nothing seamed right. The way the lodge looked, the way Josh suddenly disappeared and the way Chris was acting. He played with his thumbs, assuming I hadn't noticed his fogged up glasses and watery eyes. We were in the middle of the helicopter with Emily, just the person I wanted to see. In the back was Sam, laying her head on Mikes shoulder, both of which were asleep. Emily had an infuriating look on her face, like she was going to scream at someone if they wanted to talk to her. Another helicopter was mildly visible beside us, I saw 2 figures. Matt and Jess. The police station was not fun either. I could hear Emily's voice yelling into the camera that was visible from the tv showing the live footage. When I entered, I could see the waiting room holding my friends. "So Ashley, what happened on that mountain?"
      "Everything." I hastily replied, "What about Josh? What do you think happened to him?" Just his name made Chris bury his face in his hands. "The thing. It must have gotten hi-"
     "Thing?"
     "YES. The um, w-wendigo." My voice cracked saying that things name. "O-k? What about your friends-" they shut off the volume from the waiting room, the camera was still rolling. "What about Chris?" They whispered. "He saved me. For his life or mine. He chose to give his... for mine." I lowered my head. I love him. My mind kept replaying that sentence. Once the interview was over I moved back to the waiting room and sat down awkwardly.

I jolted up. Bed sheets covering my legs. "Ash?" I heard a soft-sleepy voice. "It's 6:30." I turned to see Chris, his face smoothed against a pillow. God. Those nightmares don't seem to end after you screw up your mind that bad. I payed down again, Chris put his strong arm around me and pulled me closer.

"I love you Ashley."

"I love you too Chris."

Note: I tried, let me know how you feel about it. I want to do this instead of having an repetitive story line. I'm gonna write tomorrow. Let me know what you think.
