I snatched

her brush,

dipped it into the phantom mixture of her tears

and painted my own Neverland

with every stroke I was chipping away

a piece of her soul and

engraving it on my would-be paradise

Alas when I finally came into,

i found her lying in the corner of my dreams, decimated

she

gleefully

died at my arms

out of her still soft tender lips

escaped a dozen monarch butterflies

and now they forever haunt my paradise

the paradise I perfected with her anguish
