Sam’s POV:

“What do you think of this place so far guys?” dad said to me and Tyler. The place we are currently residing in is Beverly Hills, America. I replied “it is okay bigger than the usual places we stay”. My dad is a marine biologist which means we need to move a lot so my dad can do his job. Tyler was falling asleep at the dinner table from the long car trip here to see us. Apparently this was the town that my mum and dad grew up in.

Tomorrows going to be my first day at my new school again, which means I better turn in early so I can actually get out of bed. I took my plate and glass off the table and placed it into the sink, afterwards I walked upstairs to where I started to grow through my boxes for a blanket and pillow, instead I found a picture of me and my mum. She was really pretty she looked like Jessica Alba a bit. It’s been 10 years since she left and we all still really miss her a lot. I finally found my blanket and pillow in one of my boxes. After I took them out of the box I collapsed onto my bed.

Next thing that I heard was my alarm going off at 6 in the morning, oh the joys of being a teenager. I got out of bed like 10 minutes later and went to have a shower. I kind of stayed there for a while because it was really cold outside (being winter and all) and that there was a lot of hot water. After I got out I went to my boxes of clothes that I had near my wardrobe and pulled out some clothes to wear. When I finished getting dressed I went downstairs to see that my dad and brother had already left. I walked around the kitchen looking for food to eat, but instead found a note and a pair of car keys on the bench. The note had said:

Dear Sam,

I’m sorry I won’t be here when you wake up, but have fun at your first day at your new school. I got you a little present that’s outside in the driveway.

Love Dad,

Ps. bring the keys

Being the curious me I took the keys and my school bag and ran out of the front door. Outside waiting for me was my very own convertible. I opened the door with my keys and sat in it for a few minutes just to get into my head that I wasn’t still dreaming. Once I had realized I wasn’t dreaming I turned on the engine and started to drive the car out of the driveway and onto the streets. I started to drive around for a while until I had spotted a small café. I parked my new car in front of the café and went into the café with my school bag. It was about 8 am by the time I got to the café so I got sit at a table and started to examine the menu to see if there was anything I would like to breakfast. The waitress that worked at the café had come to me and asked what I would like? I responded by saying “I would like a latte and a blueberry muffin, thank you”. After the waitress had left a young man around my age had walked in alone. Surprisingly he was the first good looking guy I saw since I got here. He started to walk closer to me and got a table near me. Soon after a girl had walked in and sat at the same table as him.  After a few minutes she started shouting the guy that she was with “You’re breaking up with me? But school starts today and you’re ruining everything…. You know what it’s your loss; I always knew I was too good for you!” After she had said that she stormed out of the café, while she was leaving the good looking guy was still absorbing in what happened just then. It was more entertaining than watching all those reality TV show because, it was happening right in front of me. After watching that entertaining show my order had arrived just in time while I was drinking my latte and eating my muffin I took some time to read over my time table for the day, until I realized that it was 8:20 and that I would be late if I didn’t leave now for my first day of school. I quickly pulled some money from my wallet for the order and a bit extra for tips and then hurried out the door. In that exact moment I had bumped into the good looking guy and dropped my folder with all my class information in it. I leant down to pick it up and then he started to help as well. I said thank you and sorry for bumping him and then left.

I had just arrived at school with a minute to spare. I had to quickly run to my homeroom seeing that I didn’t want to start the school day off badly and made it in time. The rest of the school day was okay. At lunch I made a few new friends Emma, Sabrina, Dean and Jeremy. They were really nice and welcoming they took me around the school and I had a few classes with them, which was another plus. The best thing about the day was when it was over, I was so tired afterwards and I had even gotten a tonne of study notes to help me catch up to where everyone else was up to.

I started to walk to my car when I noticed that someone was crouching on the car park floor looking under what I presume was his car, which was conveniently parked next to mine. I walked a little bit closer towards him and when I got to my car I asked the man on the floor what he was doing, he stood up and turned around that was when I saw that it was the good looking guy from the café! He said “hey it’s you again haha, are you following me or something?” it took me a few seconds to take in that it was really him and then my lame response was “no you wish I just started here! What are you looking for anyways?” It turns out he dropped his car keys on the floor and was looking for it, I helped him look for a little while until I noticed it was under my car. I picked it up and said to him “hey look I found it! I won’t give it to you unless you tell me your name!” I gave him a sheepish smile, he said to me “My names Charlie, now can I have my keys back?” I passed the keys over to him and by doing so we touched each other hands, they were so soft like he had been using moisturiser.

As I started to reverse from my car spot I couldn’t help but think of that little moment that I spent with Charlie searching for his keys. He was so perfect I swear!! Someone like me wouldn’t ever have a chance to ever to get to know him. As I was driving home my phone started to buzz, it was an unknown number I picked it up in the end. It turned out it was my friend Andrea from Jersey. I moved to Beverly Hills, but before that I lived in New Jersey with my best friend Andrea. We always understood each other really well and she was like a sister to me, I always told her everything and she’s always been there for me! We kept talking over the phone til I got home, which was really nice because I really missed her. I told her about everything since I moved to Beverly Hills, even the little details about Charlie. She thought I was crazy to think that Charlie wouldn’t want to get to know a bit more.

The only thing I could of that night was about Charlie and the funny moment at the café! How could someone be that perfect, but that rude at the same time. The next day came around really quickly and in my mind I couldn’t help but wonder what I would do if I saw him again. The next thing that I noticed was me walking through the doors of Beverly Hills High. I started to walk towards my locker when I saw Sabrina and Emma; they waved and walked towards me. I said “hey how are you guys?” they both responded “good”, after that I asked them “random question, but do you know a guy called Charlie?” the looks on their faces told me everything when they finally took in the question which I had asked them, Emma responded “Char Char Charlie? You the mean the most popular guy in school?” Just after  she had said that the bell had rang and we spent the whole time we walked to our classes talking about him and how his already got the most popular girlfriend in the entire district! I guess it wasn’t a big surprise for me because, knowing guys like Charlie they would of definitely had a perfect girlfriend to match.
