I hadn't realised the time had gone so fast when Simone suddenly said it was 7pm. Oh no! I had broken Christina's trust. What is she going to say when I open the door and step a foot into the house? I wondered. I could already picture Christina's disappointed and disgusted look. Even my mum would be shaking her head at me in disappointment. I knew tonight was going to be filled with explanations and frustration.

I probably looked really upset because Simone came up to me with a worried look.

"Hey Laur, what's wrong?" she asked.

"I need to get home right now!" I said sternly, grabbing my purse and literally running back home.

I was finally at the front porch of my house and was gasping for air when Dani opened the door and ushered me inside.

"Christina needs to talk to you" she said. That's all she said and then she walked towards her room.

"Lauren. WHERE have you been?!" I heard Amy shout. I was walking straight towards the sink and I wasn't even going to bother replying to anyone right now. I needed water, else I would collapse right in front of my very own eyes.

After taking a long sip of water I finally walked towards Christina and stood there, waiting for her to yell at me.

"Lauren, where did you go? You know, I was thinking of some really bad scenarios that could have happened to you and then you walk into the house and scare me like that. Just tell me where you were and that you would promise not to be so late ever again". That's all? That was ALL she was going to say to me? I expected a huge slap to the face but no, this is what I got instead. Why had I been so worried? Of course Christina wasn't going to shout at me!

"I was at the beach with my friends, like I told you by text. I didn't know the time had gone so fast. I'm really sorry Christina! And I promise to look at the time every so often" I replied.

"Alright, good. Now, take a shower because you smell like rats. Ew!" Christina said, pinching her nose and acting like she was going to die.

After a long, hot shower I finally sat on my bed with my back rested against the wall and logged on Twitter. There were so many Tweets asking me if I played Candy Crush. What even IS Candy Crush?

"What even is candy crush?" I Tweeted.

I sighed and thought about my day. It was a pretty long one but also an enjoyable one. I loved working at the café and meeting Simone. She was a wonderful friend. Tonight wasn't even filled with long explanations and a build-up of frustration and, Christina let me go by so easily. I have to admit, today was one very good day.

"So, what did Christina say?" Dani asked.

"Not much. She just wanted me to promise her I wouldn't be so late ever again"

"Good. I was kind of worried too. So, who have you met?"

"This girl called Simone. She's really nice. And I hung out with these 2 guys today called Alex and Wayne. They taught me how to surf"

"Alex? Ah, what a coincidence!"

"Yeah...." Dani and I kept talking like this for a long time until we both got tired of talking to each other and finally drifted off to sleep.
