I stare out the window. My daydreams and sudden thoughts suddenly sink, my memories floating to the surface, reminding me of the tragedy that had happened. The sun reminds me of how bright it was that day, the light peeking through; peeking through the boarded windows yet still the room was so dark.

I was so oblivious to my surroundings when I snapped back to reality I realised the bell had went and my teacher was staring at me. Looking to her eyes for only a second I quickly looked away gathering my things and heading towards the door.

"Do you still think about it? What happened?" she asked her voice sweet and subtle. I like this teacher, I mean she wasn't my favourite but she was the only one who knew the full story, I mean after all she was just like me except a different race.

"Sometimes, I can't always help it though it feels..." I let my voice trail off, trying to think of a word that described it the best but none came to mind.

"I think it's time to have another little chat, take a seat? why don't you sit down and explain it to me?" she asked gesturing towards and empty chair near her desk.

"Well" I said sitting down placing my stuff on the empty table "It feels like I'm walking into a forbidden place and I know someone's behind me but I know them so I don't worry about it and I'm walking down a hall and at the end of the hall there's an oak door. I don't want to go towards it but my feet just keep walking and when I'm in there I have a feeling that something bad is going to happen but before I turn around they just slam the door in y face and I'm stuck. It's like a bad dream I can't wake up from." I look up at her still lost in my thoughts.

"Well you do seem rather lost."

"I don't know what to do, it's not like I can control it, can I?" I'm now staring into her eyes waiting for answer and reaction.

"Well... I'm not going to lie, you can but it's painful and it's hard."

I smiled at her brightly, hope jumping inside me, but the words she said stuck in my mind 'it's painful and it's hard' her words echoed inside my brain, my smile quickly faded.

"But it's not impossible" she winked at me.

I gave her a smile in thanks, grabbed my stuff and left. I walked down the halls, looking at the graffiti scriblled on them and bad words I shouldn't repeat. I walked out the door noticing all the groups, the popular, the geeks, the football players, and just the occasional best friend groups. I don't really have friends, I mean I'm not an absolute loner but I guess I'm just not very social. That and ever since my tragedy happened I guess nobody wants to be my friend. I can't blame them. I did have one good friend though, well best friend. His names Jace, he's I guess you could say popular but he likes to hang out with me more then others.

I quickly shoved my stuff into my locker and walked to my usual picnic table, I don't know why but it was my favourite spot. Oh god the barbie brats are sitting in my seat again, I wonder what they want? In case you're wondering the Barbie brats are the two well not mort popular but most annoying and most slut like girls in the entire school, except I was never mean to them. They actually weren't that bad you just had to get to know them.

"Oh hey Ashley!?" Brittany called from my seat.

"Hey, get out of my seat."

"Oh right" Brittany got out of my seat and went around the table to sit next to Charlotte "So we were wondering if you would like to come to a hot as party on Friday?"

I sat down in my seat running through how the conversation would go in my head. First they would sit in my seat, check. Second they'll ask me to go to some party, check. Third I will tell Brittany to move out of my seat, check. Fourth I will say sure and fifth they will walk away.

"Sure."

As I predicted without saying a word they get up and leave, typical Brittany and Charlotte. Before long my friend, oh correction best friend walks up.

"Sup Jace?" Jace and I do a little hand shake type thing while Jace takes a seat next to me.

"Nothing much, just thinking about you." Jace gives me a quick wink.

I laugh at him. Jace is the type of person who has a side fringe, tall, handsome and also has the perfect amount of muscle but not too much fat. I guess Jace looks normal but on the inside he's very far from normal. Jace is a vampire, that's why he is so perfect but there not like how you'd think they are. They're not pale, or have red eyes or sparkle in the sun like Twilight vampires do. There quite normal looking, all different hair colours and eye colours not just brown and they don't burn up in the sun wither, well they can but sun burn nor burst into flames.

Vampires do have trouble keeping a low profile though, I mean we do have new borns but there not as bad as you think. They also get power from the moon, a full moon is the strongest though. I guess I know what you're thinking. Why are you friends with a vampire? He's going to suck the life out of you! How could you be so stupid! But in actual fact you're wrong if anything he's afraid of me.

See I'm a Demon. A very rare race, you know what's even more rare? Being a female Demon. See Demons are incredibly rare, but they are normally all boys. I am the first female in over centuries. Being a Demon we get a ridiculous amount of power. Also Demons are a bit like Vampires except we don't suck people's blood we suck their souls out.

I know it seems like a weird thing but it's not really. Being Demon mean's I'm perfect, everything about us is perfect. I'll give the boys side of it because well it's made to fit boys. Demon boys are irresistable, seducing and always have perfect abbs, except they don't sleep around with everyone. Being a Demon means we get alot more pain, we go through alot more then vampires do. You probably thinking we wear dark clothes, and have dark eyes but we don't. We all look normal, on the inside anyway.

I just think as it like one be long food chain, except monster chain. You see down the bottom are the Werewolves because there most common in the supernatrul scence. Werewolfs look completely normal besides the fact that have an extreme body heat, well they can get cold but only sometimes and they are also perfect. Then theres vampires because they are common but not as common as Werewolf's. Then theres Demons where I am and then theres the rarest of all, the angels. Angels can be both male and female. They like other races are absolutley perfect, I have to say though they do kind of look like typical angelsblonde hair and blue eyes, but can have other hair and eye colours as well I should know I have a friend that's an angel but her hair is bright red and her eyes are a bright hazel.

"So how's your day been?" Jace asks me breaking me waway from my previous thoughts.

"Okay I guess, it was better than yesturday." I said looking around at all the the different races. There all around us. I mean you might think someone is normal but just have another look, because I bet you the people you think look normal are probably the most quirky.

"You've been thinking about it again" he looked me straight in the eye, his face filled with concern.

"Yeah kind of.." I let my voice trail off as I did not want to continue the conversation. He didn't ask any more questions after that anyway all he did was playfully punch me in the arm and muck around. Untill we smelt it. Jace and I both took in a big wiff and turned our immidete attention to the front gate where we watched him.

"What do you think he is?" Jace's tone sounding serious.

"I don't know I don't recconigze the smell."

"Then what could he be?" he asked his voice getting slightly irretated.

"Not from around here, thats for sure
