Coachella//N.H.

"COACHELLLAAAAAA HERE WE COMEE!!" My best friend Aubrey yells from the passenger seat. Today's the day we've been waiting for since we were in 8th grade. We're on our way to Coachella, CA for Coachella! I can't believe it. My brother Chris rolls his eyes at Aubrey, even though we all know that he is equally excited. Last year, Chris and I were watching Calvin Harris' set on youtube and at that very moment, Chris decided "We are going to Coachella next year for sure." And now here we are, 3 hours away from the amazing town where thousands of people get together for the biggest music festival of the year!

Every since I was a little girl, music has been everything to me. Since my parents were pretty strict, I would always use music to escape my life where I was never allowed to do anything except study and "learn how to be a proper woman." Indian standards are the worst, and having traditional parents, you had to meet all the expectations to be the ideal daughter.

Well I'm 18 now, graduating from high school soon, and I'll be moving out to start my new life. And the best way to start this journey, is to go to my dream festival with my four favorite people in the world.

"Oh my gosh, Aubrey, I was trying to sleep." Lia groans waking up from her sleep. "Well we are so close to the city WAKE UP YA SLEEPY HEADS!" Bree (my nickname for Aubrey) yells while turning up the music. And with that, Cassidy jumps up from her sleep too. "Jesus, what is up with all the yelling?" She says fixing her hair. "Bree's just really excited because we're almost at Coachella, even though we still have a good 2 and a half hours until we get there." I state, looking up from my book that I'm reading.

"Uggghhh stupid traffic!" Chris yells frustrated with the slow moving cars ahead of us. "Calm down Chris. We're going to Coachella! Its going to be totally worth waiting in this stupid traffic when we get there! You should ask your friends how far they are." says Lia while looking in the mirror to check her makeup. "Thats a good idea, actually. They left before us so they  could be almost there." Says Chris while pulling out his phone and telling Siri to call his best friend Niko.

**********2 hours later********

"WE'RE HERE!!" Lia, Cassidy, and I yell at the top of our lungs while getting out of the car. Chris is already greeting his friends, doing funny handshakes with them and hugging the girls. "Hopefully we run into a lot of celebrities while we're here! Maybe my dream of meeting Drake will finally come true!" Bree says while looking around at our surroundings. We walk through the parking lot smiling and laughing from excitement and looking at all the crazy outfits that people have on. I'm wearing a black crop top with high waisted shorts, my black heeled boots, and a white short-sleeved net cardigan. And, of course, my flower crown. Pretty decent compared to some girls I see walking around in just a bikini. I'm not judging them. I'm actually kind of jealous. I wish I was confident enough to rock a bikini, but I'm not a very slim girl. Ahh my insecurities always get the best of me.

I'm suddenly snapped out of my thought when I hear my name being called. I look up to see my brother's friend Maggie running towards me for a hug. "Nina! Yay you're finally here! Aren't you happy I convinced your brother to bring you along! I know how much you've been wanting to go and you're finally here! How do you feel?!"
"I'm beyond happy right now! Thanks Maggie! I'm so ready to dance until my feet hurt and just enjoy the environment around me! I'm sooo excited!" We do a little happy dance and end up laughing at our sillyness. Maggie is one of my brother's good friends and after a couple of meetings, me and her became very close, too. She definitely knew how to convince my brother to bring me along, especially since my brother is the "over protective" type and doesn't want me to go to rave-like environments. So Maggie offered to take care of us (even though we are all 18 or older and can easily take care of ourselves.)

We continue walking around, taking in our surroundings and enjoying every second of it. We decide to get something to eat so we all start heading toward a food stall with burgers and fries. As I order my food and turn around to find a seat, I bump into something. When I look up, I realize it's a someone. My eyes connect to a pair of beautiful blue eyes. Its a boy. An extremely good-looking boy, might I add, with a snapback covering his blonde hair, wearing a black tank top and white shorts."Oh, I'm so sorry! I totally didn't see where I was walking." I say quickly finding it very hard to look away from his eyes. "It's fine love. You're okay, yeah?" The Irish boy, I figured from his accent, asks. "Yeah, I'm fine thanks." He has this gorgeous smile and I can't help but blush. "Well I'll see you around?" He asks, waiting for my reply. "Yeah, I guess so." And with that, he walks away.
