Young Again

We giggled as we tripped over vines and tree roots. Jack was running after me, we were playing tag. I know we will be Best Friends Forever, and nobody can change that. My pretty little thought caused me to trip again. He chuckled and helped me up. His hand was giant, my hand fit right into it. The sun was setting so we decided to go back home. He was my neighbor so he came over everyday. He came to our house and we got blankets from mummy. We watched our favourite movie while drinking a cup of hot cocoa. The next day, we decided to go on our trampoline which we later broke. Kitty came on aswell.
'Won't Kitty rip the trampoline?' Jack asked me.
'No, i dont think so Jackie' i replied pushing him over and giggling.
Unfortunately Kitty ran of, she got scared.
Jack and I just lay on the trampoline and watched the clouds, determining our future by the shape of them.
Again we went home, got blankets and watched a movie.
But one day, it all changed.

His parents were gone.

His car was gone.

His skateboard was gone.

He was gone.

Our memories flooded back.
I sat on the road, and started to cry. He didn't tell me.
Kitty ran by my side. Atleast i had her. I cuddled her till i heard a car honk. I ran out the road, but I obviously forgot Kitty. I heard a splat and she was gone.
Out of sight.
Lifeless.
My Kitty was dead. My Jack was gone.
My insides were breaking.
My heart cracked.
I kicked everything. I was so angry. i could have saved her. I just thought of myself. I am so selfish that i just ended a life. Why?
My Jack.
My Kitty.
