Chapter 11
MY CHOICE
"Andrew is waiting for you downstairs," Vivien announced. "Do you have a date with her?"
"No." I put on my skinny jeans and white sleeveless shirt. "We're going to Nathan's house. He invited us for dinner."
"I'm happy for you, Mara." Vivien hugged me. "Andrew is the perfect guy for you. He's sweet, responsible, understanding and most of all he loves you very much. I'm really really really really glad that the two of you are finally together again!"
Andrew and I had been together for almost three months. Scarlet never talked to us again, after what happened in our classroom. I felt so sorry for her. I wanted to approach her but Andrew insisted that it would be better if we just leave her on her own.
I had been helping Nathan also about the how - to - get - Yohanna thing. I told Yohanna about it but instead of getting angry; she just laughed and told me there was nothing that I could do to help him.
Yohanna seemed to be very happy. I could sense that she was hiding something from me. When we were together, she was always smiling while talking to her phone. She was always in the library with Andy - which really freaked me out - studying their lessons in physics.
So far, Nathan's relationship with Yohanna had no improvement. I wanted to tell Nathan to simply give up and find someone worthy of his love, but the way he looked at Yohanna made me realized that he had no plan on giving up.
"I'm happy too," I finally managed to say.
She moved away from me and looked at our reflection on the mirror. "You don't look happy, Mara."
"I am happy..."
"Is there a problem?"
Should it tell her? But how? Vivien examined my reflection on the mirror and tried to decipher the thing that I had been hiding away from everyone.
"Stop it," I said sharply. "I already said that I am happy."
"If you say so... but if you need help just tell me." She gave me a meaningful look and left the room
After putting some make - up I went down to meet Andrew. He was wearing a pink shirt and black pants. His hair was styled in a way that made him look like a hot model that you would usually see on a cover magazine.
"Hello sexy," he greeted.
Russell, lying comfortably on the floor, snorted. "Sexy?"
I poked his head playfully. "I am sexy so just shut up."
"You don't have to lie just to please her, Andrew," he muttered while aiming a good punch at my leg.
Andrew sniggered and pulled me to avoid Russell's punch. Russell hit the sofa instead and groaned in pain. "I'll put that in mind, Russell."
Outside the house, a black sports car was parked near our gate. I looked up at Andrew and he just shrugged and put a hand on my shoulder. "I borrowed it."
"Why?"
He shrugged again and did not answer.
On the way to Nathan's house, Andrew and I had a little argument. It was about Nathan and Yohanna. He insisted that I should leave the two alone but every time I asked him why, he refused to answer.
"Give me a good reason why I should do that," I challenged.
"Just do it."
"No."
