It seems everywhere we turn darkness lingers
The people who make a difference are fading away
To be replaced by dark shadowed figures
It seems to be the age of death, and decay
Where the greats are dying young
And the tyrants are living forever
What happened to us?
What happened to the days of young
Where neighbor helped neighbor
When you could trust your loves ones
When people didn't feel they needed to protect themselves with guns
What Happened To Our Values?
The ones that were pure, and whole
That didn't involve money, or social ques
When our only pursuit was true happiness and the happiness of others
When we judged people by their character, not what they are
Will it truly take a war to make people open their eyes to how broken this world really is?
I am not old, I have yet to see the world
But what I've seen is considered,"Good, and Whole"
If this is what "Good and Whole" is then what are we doing
People, cultures, genders, countries, family, friends, values, ideas
They're all fighting
Fighting a lost battle
A battle I fear will have no winners
The world is being ripped apart by humanity
There is no more happiness
And there is no more hope
Only destruction and death
But we can change that, if we just try
Try to change our ways, the change the way we look at the world
But if I am the only one
Then this Earth, our home
Will fade into nothing but Death and Despair.
