Jack's POV
I walk down the hall alone looking for someone. He is absolutely no where to be seen. There is no trace of him at all. Jesus Christ where is the kid. Suddenly I see the blonde head of the boy and I rush over to him. I tap on his shoulder and he turns around. Lucas furrows his eyebrows in confusion.
"Can I talk to you for a second?""Sure."
I take him into the empty English room and close the door. He sits on a desk looking at me with no emotion.
"So you know Mark?""Yeah, he's awesome," Lucas smiles.
"Well, I can tell that you like each other. So I know that you'll do this anyways, but whatever he is going to do can you just say yes?"
"Of course I will," Lucas has a wide grin and I can tell that he's happy that he knows Mark likes him. God this hurts.
"It'll make him happy and that's all I want. He deserves to be happy and if you ruin it I will not hesitate to beat the crap out of you."
Lucas understands and leaves the room. I know that it was the right thing to do. Even if it will end up hurting myself. Mark should be happy and I need to move on anyways. He won't ever think of me in any way except a friend. So it's time to end this little fantasy of mine.
I shuffle out of the room and go to my locker. My backpack is slung on my back and I go head out to the bus. When I go outside Mark and Lucas are talking and smiling together. They would be a cute couple. More than we would ever be. I just hope that Mark will be happy with him. My feet drag beneath me as I go onto the bus. As soon as I sit down in my seat Mark pops up with a wide smile. He rushes next to me and sits down.
"Did you take a shot of heroine just now?""No, just really happy."
"Why," I chuckle.
"Lucas said yes!"
"Yes, to the homecoming?"
Mark nods frantically with a wide smile. A soft smile forms on my lips. He's like a little kid who just got a toy for Christmas. His smile fades once mine does.
"Well I'm sure you two will have a good time.""Definitely. Are you going with someone or no?"
"I was, but they already got a date."
"Oh I'm sorry buddy. Maybe winter formal."
I nod and fix my hat. Mark stares outside the window. We soon come to our stop and get off the bus. The sky is gloomy with clouds covering every inch of the sky. Not a spot of light. Mark goes on and on about how he'll do his hair and what tie he'll wear. I just nod not really interested in this topic.
"Are you still gonna go even if you don't have a date?""Probably not. I could probably catch up on all the homework that I refuse to do."
"Come on it'll be fun."
"I'd rather not be the ninth wheel."
"I'll promise that we'll include you and stuff. Just come."
"I'll think about it."
We come to our houses and go our separate ways. Once the door closes I kick off my shoes. Nobody is home so I can be as loud as I want. I'm loud no matter what, but mom or dad won't yell at me to shut up. However I don't feel like doing anything exciting from the day I had. I just feel like crawling into a ball and going into a short coma. That sounds perfect at the moment.
I shuffle up the steps to my bedroom. When I open the door I sigh in satisfaction. Finally in my favorite place. I take off my flat cap and set it on my desk. As I drag myself to my desk to try and get some homework done I look out my window. I see Mark dancing around digging in his closet looking for something. He's the msot adorable little shit. If only he thought the same.Okay so it's moving a bit fast at the moment, but I'm getting really excited about this story. Idk why, but I'll try and slow stuff down.
