You ever wonder what it feels like to have all your limbs removed? Let me tell you. It's a living hell. Of course that depends on how it's done, but since mine were removed by some criminal psychopaths with an itch for torture, I believe this is a fairly accurate description of what it's liked to have your limbs pulled off without anesthetic. You feel it. Maybe that doesn't make sense, but trust me it will. The muscle in your body can feel tightened, and that's very painful. The problem is when it's pulled apart. It's something so far beyond the pains of compression that it's practically incomparable. It's a waking, living, breathing hell, one filled with enormous amounts of bleeding and screaming and pure agony. It's really a terrifying experience. Thankfully, my psychiatrist has helped me jump the mental hurdle of remembering the event, and the physical therapy and new prosthetics are super comfy and useful. These prosthetics feel just like my old arms and legs now that I've adjusted to them. It's taken months, but I've finally gotten the hang of them. Today's my pysch eval down at the department. I'm hoping for good results.
Fucking bullshit, of course I would hold anger after what I've been through. How could someone not? But apparently mine anger's just too unstable for them to put me back on the force. In fact, they don't even want me doing desk work. They're going to pay off on early retirement for me because of my injuries and psychological trauma. Assholes. Least they could do would be to put me begin a desk helping lock these fuckers up. Bullshit. My anger was clouding everything. It almost made me miss the gentlemen in the lab coat paying attention to my physical therapy. Almost. I decided to walk over to him.
"What do you want?"
"Ms. Zirn, I'm here for what you want."
This creep knows my name.
"Look I don't care what you're selling, I ain't buying."
"That would be unwise Anna. Don't you wish to stop the scum on the streets?"
This guy seemed odd, but he seemed to have good intentions.
"Alright, sure, what are you here for?"
"I'm here, Ms. Zirn, to turn you into a hero."
