The Avengers were on a small aircraft out of Sokovia, towards Stark Tower.
Tony hadn't told anyone about his vision. Bruce sat listening to opera music when Charlotte plopped next to him. Her mask/helmet was off, and she held it under her arm. Her hair stuck up in every direction.
"Hey, I heard the lullaby worked better than ever." She said.
"Yeah. Just wasn't expecting a code green." He told her.
"You hadn't been there, there would've been double the casualties." She said.
"My best friend would've been a treasured memory." Natasha added from across the room. Charlotte rolled her eyes. "Best friend", yeah right.
"You know, sometimes exactly what I want to hear isn't exactly what I want to hear." Bruce explained.
"You know, I'm a little insulted you don't trust me."
"It's not you I don't trust."
"Thor, report on the Hulk." Peggy called out.
"The gates of Hel are filled with the screams of his victims." He proclaimed. Bruce put his head in hands and groaned in despair. Charlotte glared at him with a look of disbelief.
"But not the screams of the dead, of course." Thor tried to backtrack.
"No, no, wounded screams. Mainly whimpering, a great deal of complaining and tales of sprained deltoids...and, uh, gout."
"Hey, Banner, Dr. Cho is on her way in from Seoul. Is it okay if she sets up in your lab?" Tony called out.
"Uh, yeah, she knows her way around." Bruce answered."Thanks."
To Jarvis, Tony then said
"Tell her to prep everything. Barton's gonna need the full treatment."
"Very good, sir."
"Hey, he won't need the full treatment! My healing helped." Charlotte protested.
"Yes, but you've still got a long ways to go before you really save anyone that way, Charlotte." Peggy told her. Charlotte set her jaw.
"I'll get better."
