"Riku, I'm not sure if I can do this," the spiky brunet said nervously.

"Come on, Sora. It's now or never," the man with the long, silver hair replied. The two adults stood on the island adjacent to the miniature island, where a red-headed female sat on a crooked tree, oblivious to them while appreciating the warmth of the orange sunset. "You two have been together for a long time now. It's time to pop the question."

Sora looked down at the navy blue box he held in his hand. "I know. I love her so much. I want to do it, but I just feel..."

"Don't tell me you're scared, after all you two have been through," Riku teased. Sora's eyes shot wide open with his face tinted pink.

"N-no! I was just thinking if this was the right time or not."

"This time would be the best time. Trust me, Sora. Kairi's been waiting."

With a deep sigh, Sora took his word for it and stuffed the box back inside his pocket, fully regaining determination. "All right, wish me luck."

"Don't worry. I'll be right behind you."

Sora finally took the first step, moving forward toward the island until the poapu tree was directly at his side. The woman still did not notice his presence as she gazed at the beautiful, fiery horizon. "Kairi," he spoke out. The red head turned to his attention.

"Sora."

Sora took a seat next to her on the tree. As he wrapped his arm around her waist, she leaned her head on of his shoulder for comfort. Her hair was so soft with the scent of flowers.

"Kairi," he began again.

"Yes Sora?"

"You know that I love you, right?" he asked.

"What kind of a silly question is that? Of course I do, and I love you too." Hearing those words made Sora smile, also giving him an extra boost of confidence.

"Remember when we were kids, we drew our faces on the wall in our secret place, and before Destiny Island was lost, I drew me sharing a poapu fruit with you, and then you drew it back?"

"Yes. That was our way of sharing a poapu fruit together. Showing that we'll always be a part of each other's lives," she happily replied.

"We promised each other that we'll always be together, but the poaupu isn't enough." At that moment, Sora took her hand and stood up in front of Kairi as she wondered into his serious eyes. "I want to make a new promise, a vow. Where ever you go, I go. I would follow you to the ends of the world. I love you, Kairi. You are my light, the most important person to me. So Kairi..." He bent down on one knee and pulled out the blue box. Kairi gasped at the sight and held her free hand up to cover her gaped mouth as she came to realize the situation. "Will you marry me?" He opened the case to reveal a silver ring with a small cut diamond that shined brilliantly when the sun set touched it. Tears broke free from the corners of her eyes. At first, Kairi was lost at words and couldn't form anything to say. Sora was on the verge of crying himself until the woman finally put her hand down, revealing her brightest smile.

"Yes!" That word was music to his ears. As soon as he slid the ring through her finger, he stood up and wrapped his arms around her hips.

"She said yes!" he shouted in glee while he lifted her up and spun her around. She laughed as she held him back, her legs swinging in the air. When his feet stopped, he slowly lowered her body down to meet eye to eye. Lost in the gaze of their deep blue eyes, their faces drew closer and closer until they met with a sweet tender kiss.
