"And that's a wrap on vocals." My music producer announced as I finished on the song I wrote for Michael. It was called 'When I Look At You' and I had to say, it was something special. I kind of wanted it to be my first single off the album but I was told that it needed to be something different before we could have that one.
Since I was the one who could pick the single – even though they had denied my original one – I chose the song that Moira and I had teamed up on to create; 'Hold Me Down.' It was a more general feel of how I wanted my music to sound and it was really my style.
"We'll go through, figure out the instruments tracks, and then hopefully have an album out in a couple of weeks."
A cheer rippled from me as I heard that come from my producers mouth. I was excited to know that the one (major and most important) part of this album was done. I could figure out a release date for it and then we can go and promote the album. It was like life was falling back into place for me.
Breanna and I walked out after discussing scheduling the photo shoot for tomorrow and going through themes and color schemes; also talking about what order I wanted the songs to be on the track list. I made sure that Michael's song was the very last one, because I had told him to look out for it in that spot.
"Shall we go get some food?" Breanna asked, looking up from her phone as I grabbed my bag off the couch in the corner of the room.
"Yes, please. I'm so hungry." I said, hearing my stomach growl in approval. We both headed out to my car seeing as how we took it this morning after she showed up at my house early this morning.
"I'm driving because I know the perfect place to go. Does Italian sound good to you?"
With a feral nod and my stomach making a point that any food at the moment sounded good to me, we were heading down the road.
Michael
The restaurant was extremely packed I thought when the woman brought me to the table Breanna had reserved a few hours in advance. I took a seat and told the hostess that I'd be joined by another person here in a few minutes and that's when I'd give my drink order. The thought to surprise Savannah with my arrival came from Nicole.
She was there the day that I spoke to Savannah about coming and she had demanded that since we had the few weeks off in between tours that I needed to go and see how Savannah was. Bless her because now I was excited to see Savannah. My knee was shaking and I was sure my lip would be all red and swelled with how much I keep biting it.
Slowly the excitement was turning to nerves, and I wasn't for sure why. Was it nerves about seeing her for the first time since she told me that she hasn't been herself or if she wouldn't be as happy as I am to see her as she is me? Whatever it was, I was going to make sure I was by her side and helping her figure out her next step.
My phone buzzed against my leg, the one that wasn't shaking, causing me to pull it out in a hurry; seeing a message from Breanna that Savannah was heading inside right now. My head instantly flew up, eyes running straight to the entrance; scanning for my lovely girlfriend.
There she stood, being greeted by the hostess. Her hair was in her natural curls – which means that she must not have had the time this morning to do anything with it after showering- and a white dress. I stood up from my seat, wanting to run and hug her but I refrained myself from doing so.
She looked happy and I wondered if she had finished her album yet or not.
I couldn't wait for her to notice I was standing not even ten feet from her. When her head turned from staring at the door to see if Breanna was going to walk in –which I knew she wasn't- and her gaze found mine, her body froze and her hand covered her mouth as it looked like her eyes grazed with tears.
"Michael." She cried, running to me. I got her in a hug, wanting to see this moment in my mind forever. By now everyone had taken to seeing our moment and was clapping, but all I heard were Savannah's small cries about how I was here with her finally.
"I'm here, babe." I said softly into her ear. "I love you."
I could feel myself getting choked up as I placed a kiss on her forehead.
"I love you so much, Michael. Thank you for being here."
She pulled away a bit and I saw the tears already leaking out of her eyes; hers being the cause of mine to start producing. I wiped at her before taking her face and placing a kiss on her lips. The people around us were cheering again.
"I'd do anything for my girl."
"So, you're telling me that you 'accidentally' got on the wrong plane and it just so happened to be the one heading here?" Savannah laughed at my explanation of what I was going to tell the guys. We had ate dinner at the Italian place and then decided to go for some ice cream before we settled back at her house.
"The gate for the plane to Australia was literally right next to the one to Los Angeles. It was an honest mistake that I'm sure they would understand." I grinned at her as she wasn't buying thing of this. I knew she wouldn't though.
The gates were actually on complete other sides of the building but I was on a mission to be with my girlfriend for a little bit of my time off. Besides, my manager knew I was coming here because he had gotten me the ticket; it was just Calum, Luke, and Ashton who didn't know. It's not even that I was hiding the trip from them because I'm sure that Nicole would have told them where I was, I just wanted this little time alone with Savannah to figure out how to help her at this moment.
"You're such a liar." She lightly shoved my shoved, a smile forming on my lips as I heard her laugh again.
After arriving at her house we got a bunch of blankets and decided to bring them outside and lay under a tree; watching as the sky turned from twilight to dark in a matter of minutes.
"Yeah," I breathed out, taking a look up at the stars that had skirted their way across the sky. Savannah cuddled closer to me, resting her head against my chest as we fell into a comfortable silence.
My hand ran through her hair as I hummed the tune of the song that we added to the album. In a few short minutes her breathing evened out letting me know that she had fallen asleep. Good, I thought. She definitely needed the rest. Taking the time now, I basked in the feeling of her being close to me again because I knew my time with her here was limited; only a few days before I was heading back to Sydney to spend time with my mom and dad.
The thought I got next was a little crazy, especially since I was for sure Savannah wouldn't agree to it but my parents were always going on about wanting to meet Savannah and I know that it would nice for her to meet them and have the time to just relax and enjoy where I am from. I made the mental note to find out what she had planned in the next coming days and if there was nothing that she couldn't reschedule for a later time that I was bringing her on a flight to Australia.
Not sure why but I love this chapter even though it kinda is cliche and a whole bunch of lovey dovey stuff. Oh well.
I write Michael's name a lot and I always feel like I spell it wrong. Like the ae just has me always double checking. Sorry if I spell your name wrong, Mikey.
