Chapter 17: Diana and Harly

Ohaio Minna!^^ I'm back from the dead! Finally here to update!

I didn't even notice how long it has been until just a few days ago x( I'm so sorry guys.

  Thank you guys for 750 followers! You guys are amazing for sticking with me even though my updating schedule has been wacky. You guys are amazing.

Juvia brought the cup to her mouth, blowing away the hot steam rising from the liquid. She slowly closed her eyes and tipped her head, pouring a little amount of the liquid in her mouth before swallowing the warm goodness.

'' So, how long has she been missing for?'' Diana asked, crossing her jeans clothed legs as the door to the room opened and a blonde flat chested girl walked inside with a tray.

''Just a two or three days.'' Erza explained with a grim expression before smiling at the blonde girl that held out the tray for her that was filled with different plates of cookies. ''Thank you.''

The blonde flashed her a smile before walking over to the others, doing the same as they all smiled at her in kindness.

'' And you believe she is here? In this city?'' Diana asked, leaning back in her chair as the blonde joined her in the chair next to hers, placing the tray on the table that they had in front of them.

''It's pretty much all we have to go on.'' Gray sighed next to Erza on the couch as Natsu chewed on a cookie on his other side. ''We've searched almost every nick and corner of Magnolia and we still have people searching for her. This was the second place we thought she would be.''

''And you haven't checked the....Heartfilia Konzern? Was that the name of it?''

''Not yet.'' Wendy answered, glancing down at her white furred friend that was sitting with her arms crossed on the table.

Diana flashed them a kind smile. ''Then don't worry. Hope is not crushed yet.''

''Suppose your right.'' Erza replied with a smile.

The blonde turned to her lover, her eyes shining up with what Diana recognized as an Idea and Diana quickly knew what she was up to and her smile faltered.

''Diana, maybe you should talk to your uncle. '' Diana fisted her palms. ''I know that this is not what you want to hear, love, but you have held it off far too long. Maybe this is your chance-'' The blonde said, placing her hand on Diana's shoulder.

''I'm not speaking to him.'' Diana said through clenched teeth. ''I cut off the ties for a reason.''

''I know, love.'' The blonde replied, sincere. ''But these people really need help and I bet your uncle could-''

''No.'' Diana said with a hard tone. ''Gosh, I love you Harly, but this is asking too much.''

Harly's eyes saddened. ''Please, love. ''

''Excuse me for intruding.'' Erza said, making the duo look at her. ''But what help can your uncle be? And why did you cut your ties with him?''

Diana sighed heavily and Harly bit her bottom lip before dropping the hand she had on her lover's shoulder.

''Diana's Uncle is an old man living in a village not too far from here.'' Harly explained and Erza leaned back in the couch, Natsu listening silently while chewing on his fourth cookie. '' To say that the village there is strange would be an understatement.''

''A huge understatement.'' Diana added.

''Strange? How?'' Juvia asked, taking a sip out of her tea.

''Well.'' Harly hesitated. ''People that visits that village tend to not come back. At least not alive.''

Gray raised an eyebrow. ''Care to elaborate?''

''My uncle was an old fool as youth.'' Diana snorted. ''He was paranoid that the people between this village and his was going to start a war so instead of facing it, he worsened it.''

''Diana and I are originally from the village but we managed to get away when we realized what he was doing. And what he was doing was far from normal. He and a few of his friends, or rather his friends convinced her uncle to create a barrier, a monster which would scare the enemies away, but this monster did more than scare them away. It killed them and it still kills everything that walks even a mile near the village.'' Harly explained.

''War? Lucy never told us that.'' Natsu said, confused.

Harly averted her eyes.

''Harly?'' Wendy said in a soft tone. ''What is it that you aren't telling us?''

Harly hesitated.

''Tell them.'' Diana sighed, which made Harly nod.

''Well, when her uncle created the so called monster, he also laid a curse on everyone that lived in the village or well, everyone that was born in it. Which says a lot that people don't leave the village that often since everyone that was from that village was still there.'' Harly scratched the back off her head. ''We are unable to age so while you may believe that we are 26 or so, we are actually over 70 years old.''

Juvia choked on her tea and the rest couldn't contain the shock as they gaped at them.

''Over 70 years old!?'' Natsu exclaimed.

''That's insane. '' Wendy choked out, closing her gaping mouth.

''Kinda is.'' Diana laughed humorlessly. ''Anyways, my uncle cut all ties with this village when he realized that the monster was uncontrollable. He knew that if anyone got the information that people were still living peacefully in this village, they would try to move to it and my uncle knew that if people tried to move to the village they would be dead before even laying eyes on the monster.''

''How did you two escape?'' Wendy asked, taking a sip out of her tea.

Harly rolled her bottom lip into her mouth, biting it. ''That's what we can't remember.''

''You forgot?'' Gray asked in disbelief.

''No. No. ''Harly franticly shook her head. '' It's not that we don't remember, it's more that we don't have any memory of it.''

''One second we were pacing to run away, the next we wake up in this village infirmary. Apparently they found us laying in the outskirts of this village, unconscious but totally fine from injuries. The doctor taught nothing of it, so we decided to not question it.''

''Interesting.'' Erza muttered. '' Uhm, what are the odds of surviving an attack from the beast?''

Diana's face went grim. ''Not high.''

''What if-'' Wendy choked out, her eyes widening in fear.

''We don't know that.'' Natsu hissed under his breath, fisting his palms.

Erza gave Natsu a sympathetic look before looking at Diana.

''Can you show us the way?''

''But-'' Harly's face paled.

''Our friend is missing and this may be a lead to why she hasn't come home yet.'' Erza cut her off. ''Every lead is a good lead and we won't ask of you to talk to your Uncle just because of our selfishness. If you can show us the way, we will take care of the rest.''

The duo looked at each other and Harly's eyes widened in fear.

''Diana, please don't d-''

''I'll do it.'' Diana said, looking straight into Erza's eyes. '' I'll show you the way.''
