AN: This one-shot is based off the Instagram recommendation I got featured above. I didn't so much focus on InuKag's reactions to Souta's puppy as much as I decided to make a short story out of the puppy idea. Hope you enjoy.
Souta had wanted a puppy for a really long time but every year he had asked for one for his birthday he had gotten something else.
But this year would be different, he wouldn't ask for a puppy for his birthday he'd just ask for one every single day!
"Please mom! I swear I'll take care of it!" The boy whined as his mother washed the dishes.
"Souta I just don't think you're ready for a puppy they're alot of work you know." His Mother finished the dishes and turned to her sad faced child.
Letting out a sigh she crossed the room and rested her hand on her son's shoulder. "You show me that you can take responsibility for your chores and I'll think about that puppy." The boys eyes lighted with excitement as he hugged his mother tightly, thanking her as he did so.
The next week's to come Souta did as his mother had asked. He did all his chores with great effort and even did some of his elder sisters for her in hopes of getting his puppy sooner.
"Why do you keep offering to do my chores?" His sister questioned one day.
"Because Mama said if I take responsibility for my chores I'll get a puppy!"
Kagome's eyebrow lifted in interest. "Really? Wow that's really nice of her good luck with that and feel free do to all my chores for me as long as you want to." His sisters sly smile didn't bug him in the slightest he would do everybody's chores if it meant getting a puppy.
A month had past and the boy was exhausted from his none stop chore duties but luckily his sisters boyfriend - a half demon named InuYasha - had secretly helped the boy do the chores when he could and that made things go alot faster.
And finally the day had come, the day his Mother with a warm smile upon her face told the young boy he could go with her to pick out a puppy.
It didn't take him long to choose one seeing as he immediately was drawn towards an adorable Shiba Inu pup.
The second Souta and his new pup had gotten back to the house Souta ran upstairs with the pup in toe to show his sister and her boyfriend.
Ripping the door open he was a little annoyed to see the two of them fast asleep.
He was also surprised when the pup happily ran past him and onto the bed, turning to lick InuYasha's face.
"Kagome what are you-" InuYasha opened his eyes and yelled in surprised, falling out of bed and waking Kagome as he did so.
InuYasha lifted himself off the floor as the puppy moved to lick Kagome's face instead.
"Wait you actually got a puppy?" InuYasha asked Souta as he helped Kagome stop the puppy for licking her face.
Souta nodded with pride. "Yup and guess what I named him!!"
Both Kagome and InuYasha turned to look at the boy with curiosity.
"InuYasha!!"
InuYasha let out a loud groan as Kagome laughed.
Both InuYasha's would fit into the family, perfectly.
