Just a dream

She wore a white dress, favorite flowers held in between her hands; walking down the snow covered path and a veil hiding away her tears.

(Y/n) sat in her living room staring blankly out the garden when a knocking on her front door echoed through the house.

"I'm coming. Just a moment. " She called and stood up from where she sat and turned toward the front door of the house.

Upon opening the door she was greeted by Fleet Admiral Sengoku, a grim expression set on his features. She felt fear ran down her spine and hoped she was reading his expression wrong.

"Rocinante, he's gone. I'm sorry (y/n). They found his body along with these." He said as he handed her a folded piece of paper and a small velvet box.

Tears feel down from the corner of her eyes as she took the letter first and read through it.

Dearest (y/n) we had loved each other for so long and I wish to be by your side forever. 

Will you Marry Me?

She choked out a sob as she gently folded the paper again and took the small box from the elder males hand.

Inside the box lay the beautiful silver band with (your birthstone) in the middle of it.

As (y/n) walks nearer to his marker her tears threaten to burst and she held her cries in and as she reached his grave marker she fell down on her knees and the flowers fell to the ground,  all the pain she had kept within her came crashing down on her.

I was counting on forever
