<<Audrey>>

"I swear that I can't wait until the day that I'll be able to push this fucking baby out of my va-"

"Mom! We're in public," I remind her, motioning towards the people who obviously just heard what came out of her mouth by the looks on their face.

"I don't give a damn, Audrey. They're not going through the horrendous pain that comes with being pregnant," she dramatically exclaimed, rubbing her huge belly bump and muttering a few curse words under her breath which informed me that the baby was kicking.

Some people say that I could be an exact replica of her, besides the fact of our age and height. I mean, I don't blame them because we have the same personality and appearance. I know for a fact that I get my potty mouth, loud voice, and bubbly but moody attitude from her. I also get my dark brown, wavy hair and chestnut eyes from her. We could be twins and some people think we are.

My mom is in her early thirty's which is a good age in my opinion to be having another baby. She was 17 when she had me, but before you're quick to judge, I know my parents were young but they took full responsibility and loved me like I know they are gonna love the new baby.

We don't know the gender because my parents wanted it to be a surprise which is something I've always hated.. surprises. I mean, I like to be prepared for what's about to happen, but how can I do that when I don't know what's about to happen?

"Earth to Audrey," she said, repeatedly waving her hand in front of my face, frantically trying to gain my attention.

"Yeah, sorry, what?" I awkwardly responded.

"That boy over there has been staring at you," she acknowledged, motioning towards a familiar face that I only caught a glimpse of because he quickly turned around when I looked his way. "Looks like you've got yourself an admirer, huh?" mom continued, shoulder bumping me and wiggling her perfectly arched eyebrows.

I rolled my eyes at her teenish behavior and slightly chuckled. "Don't look now," she continued, "but he's headed this way."

I groaned at the sight of the boy whom my mother had just acknowledged twice. He goes by the name of Cade Owens.

Cade is a major jock and is known as a fuckboy, but I'm not that person to believe what everyone says. In other words, I'm not quick to judge a book by its cover.

"Hello Mrs. Taylor," he politely greeted, smiling at my mother with his perfect, pearly white teeth.

My mom smiled my way, mouthing "he's cute" before turning back towards Cade and shaking his outstretched hand.

"Hey Audrey," he greeted, a boyish grin appearing on his face. I have to admit, Cade is actually pretty attractive with his short, brown "quiff", as they call it, and his dark brown eyes.

But, he's no Harry Styles

But, he's no Harry Styles.

"Owens," I greeted with a nod of my head. Out of the corner of my eye I saw my mom roll her eyes at my greeting but I could care less.

"I'll leave you two kids alone," she grinned, before walking away. I groaned as she turned around while walking to give me a big thumbs up.

"It's a lovely d-"

"Let's cut to the chase. What do you want and make it quick because I have things to do," I ordered, already annoyed at the fact that my mom left me alone with this idiot who's literally been bothering me for days.

"Before you say no, again, I just want you to know that we can just go as friends. So, Audrey Taylor, will you go to the dance with me?" he asked for the thousand time already.

"If I say yes, will you stop asking?" I rolled my eyes for what seemed like the 100th time today.

A grin tugged at his lips as the words came from my mouth and he nodded.

"Then yes," I calmy answered, knowing that I'll regret it later, but there's no going back now.

"Cool. I'll see you at school Monday," he exclaimed as if we just had a formal, friendly conversation and walked away.

In no time, my mom was right in front of me again, wrapping her arm around my shoulder and leading me to the direction of what looked like a botique.

"We have dress shopping to do," she excitedly exclaimed, telling me about how the shop we were about to enter had the best dresses around before I interrupted her, saying:

"Mom, did you just listen to my conversation." I crossed my arms and raised an eyebrow, waiting for an answer to my question even though it was rhetorical.

"Duh, that's what moms are for," she answered, pulling my arm towards a rack of dresses that I'd never see myself wearing.

"The dance isn't even this week!" I exclaimed, aggravated at what I had just brought myself into.

"Well, it's never too early to be prepared," my mom responded, eyeing a dress that she had already picked out and was holding up in the air, inspecting it up and down.

I groaned and silently prayed that this day couldn't get any worse.

<<Author's Note>>

So, I didn't really know how to end it, but I hope you guys enjoyed chapter 1 to "Perfect".

I think you guys will enjoy this book better than my other one, "The Response". I enjoyed writing this one better, but the other one is easier to write!

Don't forget to vote and comment your opinions on what you thought!

A lotta love <3,
