Eliza's POV
I had felt a heavy push on my chest and awoke with a gasp for air.
"Duncan you scared me." I said while tightly clutching my sheets.
"Look I'm sorry, but we have to go. The bus leaves in an hour."
He uncovered me from the blankets and I slowly sat upright.
I grabbed the closest hair tie, which happened to be bright purple, and tied my hair into a messy bun. I undressed and grabbed an oversized mustard colored sweater along with some faded jeans that I've had for years. I brushed my teeth and applied the slightest amount of makeup.
"Duncan!", I yelled. "Do you want Cheerios or Fruit Loops?"
I could hear him sigh from all the way in the other room. "Neither. We have business to do so stop fooling around."
I could sense the anger growing stronger in his voice.
"Well sorry mister grumpy pants", I said teasing him.
I turned the corner and saw him applying Neosporin to the deep cuts in his chest.
"Oh my god Duncan!" I ran over to him touching one of his wounds. "Is this from yesterday?" I said looking into his forest green eyes.
"Yes," he said while putting on his shirt. "But I need you to not say anything to Kai today alright?" He grabbed my hands and warmed them.
"Fine, but that doesn't mean that I won't tomorrow. This is serious and I think he needs to know that he's pushing you too far."
I turned and grabbed my duffle bag, keys, and converse. I walked to the bus stop and began to put on my shoes. Then I saw her.
