Where there once was love...
There was only me..
Lonly - Christina Perri
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖Its been me and Asher for as long as I can remember. We were always together, whether it was after school to work on homework, read, or to watch reruns of Supernatural he would always be with me.
He unlike most guys at my school didn't make me want to punch him in the face after every sentence he spoke, he was different, he was just Asher and nothing else.
He didn't try to be annoying on purpose or a jerk to get attention he was just him ,just Asher Lance Haven, and he meant the world to me.
We grew up together in this small rainy town of ForChaster,Washington which we liked to call home. Here it is just a population of 3,000 people and the school is only divided into first through sixth and seventh through twelfth.
So yeah it is a small town and here everyone knows everyone.I try my best to stay awake as the teacher discusses the War of 1812.
At the same time doodling patterns onto my page of notes, which I struggle to be copying.
I glance to my right to see Asher looking down in his lap at his book, he looks as if he is in a completely different world. I wish I could follow sometimes, but one of us has to keep the other from failing so it looks like it's up to me this time.I stare at Asher's face for a moment following the lines of his pale cheekbones and the contour of his face, his chestnut brown hair drapes across his face and leaves a shadow against his pale slightly freckled face. I watch as his light golden brown eyes follow each word on his page as if he is studying it inside and out.
I get lost and mesmerized at Asher's face that I loose reality fast-
" Miss Hadley please pay attention", Mr. Charles says sounding extremely irritated.
I quickly pull my glance from Asher and then to the board and lay my head on my desk to relieve myself from the embarrassment.
I hear a couple of girls snickering and whispering in the back but I shrug it off.
I look back at Asher as soon as the teacher rambles more about the war and as I sneak another look, I meet his golden brown eyes and it sends a shock through me in surprise.
He quickly smiles and it makes my cheeks flush and my adrenaline go up the wall, I don't know why but, something Asher does best is light up my day, he always has.
I smile back and as soon as I do, the final bell rings to dismiss us from class.
I pack my stuff and grab my bag and wait for Asher as he finishes the last few words of the chapter in his book abiding his own precious time." Asher come on you can finish that at my house, we have to get going didn't you hear the bell?", I say as he reads the last sentence of his book and closes the book and shoves it back in his bag.
He just smiles and grabs my hand and we walk out the door . It's not that we are a "thing" we are just best friends, he just likes to hold my hand and I don't mind so why not?
We walk to the back of the building and begin to follow the sidewalk into town." So get in trouble did we?", Asher teases while a smirk tugs his lips. Along with that he gives me a side nudge right in the hip.
" Hey!", I react to the side nudging-
" I was just in deep thought, that's all, and frankly I'm the only one actually wanting to pass my classes because you seem to have been in another dimension at that moment" I agrue back at him giving him a devilish grin and he just snikers,
"Hey it's a good book! And I do listen!" He smiles back at me and I roll my eyes.
We cross the street and head pass the library down towards our street.
