She walked though the doors of the hospital, it had been 6 months since she seen her baby, her little girl. Into the elevator, she pressed the button to the 4th floor, psych ward. Under funded, wrecked and under staffed, she stared at the doors into the long hallway in which her daughter stayed at, she held the flowers close to her and pressed the door bell, the nurse let her in then the mother walked up to her.
" um room 22, Natalee Kemada"
The nurse nodded and grabbed her keys as she walked to the room with the mother.
"You have her for the next 6 months correct?"
The mother nodded
" well Mr. Kemada requested that she stays at the hospital and not go home with you"
The mother stopped walking as tears formed in her eyes
"What did the judge say to this?"
The nurse got to room 22 and stared at the mother
" he agreed ma'am... I'm sorry, but you are allowed to Visit her every day and take her out 5 days a week as long as she comes back every afternoon before 7 pm"
The mother dried her face and nodded as the nurse opened up the room, and there she was 16 year old Natalee. Natalee looked up from her drawing and smiled
"MOMMY! You have come to save me from my prison! Thank you! Let's go home now mommy!"
The 16 year old ran to her mother and hugged her as she cried tears of joy, the mother cried too, not of joy, of sadness, her only daughter taken away by the man she once loved and by illness. Natalee thought she was in jail and that she was 5 years old, she also had depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. When she was 12 a car accident took away her normality, the damage to her brain caused her to develop all her problems and her parents took care of her for the first 2 years, but when she was 14 they ended their marriage and love. The father convinced the judge that it was his ex-wife's driving that hurt Natalee, and that she should not have custody over their child, the judge and jury agreed. Mr. Kemada did not want Natalee nor did he want to take care of her so he send her to the mental hospital, where he saw her once every 2 weeks and paid for her pills.
"My baby.... have you eaten your breakfast? Do you want me to feed you?"
The girl nodded than sat down on her bed as the nurse brought her breakfast and her medicine, 2 pills of antidepressants, 1 for anxiety, 1 sedative to relax her bipolar disorder and a full needle of vitamins. The mother looked at the medicine in shame and sadness
"I see that Harry ordered more drugs for her.... she only needs her vitamins and pills for depression... but he doesn't listen"
The nurse frowned ashamed then gave the girl her medicine which she always confused for candy. After breakfast the mother and Natalee had a fun day of coloring, watching movies, playing and laughing, everything seemed perfect, Natalee helped her mother put the flowers in a plastic vase and give them water, beautiful red and white roses for her little girl. As the fun grew so did the hours and soon it was time for Natalee to go to bed, her mother gave her one last gift before leaving, a yummy chocolate bar then left. Next morning the mother didn't come in and the daughter laid still in her bed, dead due to poisoning, when the police arrived at the house of the mother she was dead too, gun shot to the head. She left a note beside a red and white rose
" Dear family, friends and more
I know it isn't like me to kill someone for I've been told that I couldn't harm a fly even if I wanted to, but when a mother has a responsibility to uphold then she'll go to the end of the earth to do it, my responsibility is to make sure that my baby is free and happy, and she will be in heaven, while I'll take my punishment and stay in hell where I belong, please bury her in her blue dress and braid her hair, put roses on her grave every week and make sure that her teddy bear is in her arms. thank you family and friends
Love Marie Oremy"
