Some days you wake up wondering if this is the day your schedule malfunctions. You have allotted exactly two minutes and thirty seconds to this train of thought before you have to jump out of bed to wake your children up before you hop in the shower. You understand that when you get in the shower for your morning routine your daughter takes a minute or two before she fully awakens and starts getting dressed in her uniform for school, whereas your son takes after you and sits up long enough for you to leave their room before laying back down and continuing to sleep. After so long of doing this same routine you understand that you get two songs worth of a shower before you have to get you to wake your boy up. Today is slightly different in that your youngest brother, who occasionally couch surfs on your ratty couch, is staying with you. As you step out of the shower and wrap yourself in your body towel all you can think is, " Balls that means I need to make three sets of breakfast and lunch for today before we need to leave to drop my babies off before work." Maybe not the nicest thing to think about with your brother staying with you but it's messing up your schedule already and that makes you crazy. As you finish drying off you turn to look into your bedroom, which is as big as most people's closet all you can really focus on is the fact that your slipping on the fact that things need to be a certain way for you to succeed. You quickly throw on a pair of black skinny jeans, your Hogwarts shirt, and your pair of black low top chucks that have seen better days, before you leave your room to walk directly across the hall to your kids room only to find that both of your babies are not in there. You step back into the hallway and turn to look at your couch only to find that empty as well. "Will?" You gently call out wondering if maybe you were still sleeping.
"In here Sis," came the reply for the general area of your kitchen as well as the unmistakeable giggle of both your children.
As you slowly make the your way to the kitchen, completely unsure of what you would find, you turn the corner out of the hallway to find both your kids dressed and sitting at the table like regular little human beings and giggling about their nuncle's ( as he liked to be called) antics in the kitchen. You were only able to stand there shell shocked for barely a moment before your kids realized you were there.
"Morning mommy," from your six year old daughter Janessa
"Mommy," from your three year old son Devin
"Hello my loves is nuncle making breakfast today?" You ask as you look questioningly at your youngest brother.
"Of course I'm making their breakfast, they asked, and I'm glad to help. Now grab a plate and a seat and get ready to be amazed at my culinary skills sister."
" I'll be amazed if you don't set my apartment on fire," you whisper to him as you walk up and turn down the heat on the gas stove he was currently cooking scrambled eggs and sausage on, "It's not quite the same as at mom and dad's house. Thank you."
"No problem," he whispers back to you.

You had just dropped your son off at daycare after dropping your daughter off at her Elementary school. As you were driving through the same traffic you got stuck in every morning you mentally reviewed what bills were coming due and which you could pay when your phone started ringing from the center console of your car. Because you were currently stuck at a red light you briefly glanced at the caller id and saw that it was a restricted number. As per your habit with numbers that were restricted you quickly rejected the call before turning up the radio to jam along with the song that was currently playing. Within thirty seconds of you rejecting the call your phone was once again going off with what looked to be the same blocked caller coming through so you quickly rejected that as well before starting to drive as the light had just changed. You quickly turned the music all the way up to get your self in the mood for another long day at work.
Finally you pulled into the staff parking for the hotel that you worked at. As you found your parking spot you saw that two of your coworkers that worked the same shift as you were standing outside gossiping before shift began. As you got out of your car and gathered your stuff for the day you checked your phone and saw that you had numerous missed phone calls and voicemails, all from a restricted number.
"Hey Bob, hey Gina," you greeted as you tried to worm your way past without getting sucked into the gab fest that these two always had going on.
"Oh girl, you haven't heard." Said Bob as Gina just puffed on her e-cigarette, and you start opening your voicemail inbox to be able to easily review your messages.
"I haven't heard what Bob, I just got here?"
"Cliff did our evaluations last night after our shift and he's in a horrible mood, needs to see you as soon as you get here." He says as they both look at you expecting you to react.
"Well then I better go find Cliff." You say as you walk past them.
