"Oy Link!" Rameh said. "Can you help me with the goats today?" Rameh was a lowly peasant that lived in the little village of Amadon, who owned and sold goats. He hardly made any money, but he was one of Link's good companions. Link helped Rameh almost everyday. Rameh practically raised Link, and when Link built his own house, he visited Rameh very often. "Sure Rameh!" said Link. He led his horse Epona to Rameh's barnyard.
Epona was an abandoned horse that Link had taken in when Link was very young. Ever since then, he had taken care of Epona very well. On some occasion, Rameh helped Link with Epona. Sometimes when Epona was naughty to Link, Rameh scolded her for Link. Epona also loved chasing the goats into their pens. So did Link.
As soon as Epona saw the goats disbanded in the barnyard, she charged at them. Sometimes Epona charged at the goats without Link on her back. But Rameh went in her path and said "Whoa girl, whoa!" Epona stopped immediately as soon as she saw Rameh.
"Now Epona," said Rameh. "We know it's not as fun with Link on your back, now is it Link?" "Yeah." replied Link. He jumped on the saddle that was attached to Epona and yelled, "Hya!" Then Epona once again chased after the goats.
Rameh went inside the barn house to open all the pens for the goats. Epona and Link were herding two goats at one time. The goats were running to their pens and Rameh immediately shut their pens when the goats were inside them so they couldn't escape.
"Yeah, Link!" Rameh said as soon as Link and Epona were done herding all the goats. "You and Epona did great today!" "Yeah I know!" Link replied. "Well, see you two scallywags tomorrow!" Rameh said. "Okay, you too Rameh!" Link said. Then he led Epona toward his house.
Link made himself some soup as soon as he put away Epona and fed her. When he was done he gave his leftovers to Epona. Link didn't like wasting food so whenever he had leftovers, he gave it to Epona. Or if he had leftover meat, he gave that to Rameh or someone else who lived in the village.
When Link was getting ready to go to bed, he saw an envelope on his hammock. He went over to the hammock and picked up the strange envelope. He then lay on his hammock and opened the envelope. He found a letter inside it and this is what it said:
Dear Link, you've been invited to a party! Yay! It's gonna be great! It's in a few days though. The party is at the Hyrule Town, but here's something for you to do! You have to find us all! The first place to go is the Forest temple! Yay! And whoever you find first there will tell you what to do from there! There’s 10 of us in all! The only thing you don't do is 1. Don't bring your horse! 2. Don't bring anyone with you! 3. You have to wear the oufit inside a treasure chest in your basement! Well, you have to look for us all tomorrow or else! Well, you pretty much have to come or else there will be trouble okay? Well, see you tomorrow Link! ~Clover :)
"I have an outfit in my basement?" Link thought to himself. This was strange. Link wondered why he absolutely had to go to this party or why he needed to find someone. Maybe it was a scavenger hunt party.
Link got off his hammock and climbed down the ladder that led to his basement. He lit the lamp he brought with him with some oil and turned handle, and there he saw it. A little wooden treasure chest in the middle of the floor. Link walked over to it. He put his lamp down and he opened the chest. It was a green tunic with white tights, a green hat, and brown boots.
And underneath all the clothing, he found a sword and shield. The shield was made of stainless steel and it had many designs on it with a phoenix in the middle of all the designs. The sword was in a sword holder and the sword holder had a leather strap on each ends.
Link took the sword out of its holder. The handle was plain black and Link could see his reflection on the blade. Link was excited about the sword. A man named Jiri taught Link the way of the sword when Link was younger. Ever since then, Link wanted a sword of his own. And now he had it.
Link put all the stuff back in the treasure chest for tomorrow. But he left the chest open. He turned off his lantern and put it next to the top of the ladder. Link went in his hammock and lay awake for a while, wondering about this "Party".
Link finally went to sleep after a long time. He hasn't been outside the village in a long time and was both eager and nervous to leave the town. What would Rameh do without him? Link didn't let that question bother him for long. He would find out tomorrow.
