CHAPTER 4

Karla's POV

"ROBIN! WHERE ARE WE GOING!?!" I screamed. The wind blew my hair in all directions, and made it hard for me to see, hear and be heard.

"JUST WAIT! YOU'LL SEE!" He shouted back

I awkwardly wrapped her arms around Robin's waist, and shut my eyes tightly. Before I knew it the motorcycle came to a stop. Robin lead me into the entrance and briefly gave me a run through of where I was.

" Karla, this is the young justice headquarters. Our team consists of all the Justice leagues protégés and nieces. Now, it will also consist of daughters."

My eyes widened,

"Wait, so I'm joining the team?" I said.

Robin nodded.

"You'll get to fight crime with us, go on missions, make your own name and receive your own getup. 

Cool huh?"

I nodded, too overwhelmed to speak. I couldn't wait! Finally I could meet more people who were like me.

"Oh, and we have Six members including me. 3 boys and 3 girls. A speedster, a strong one, a Martian, an archer, and an atalantian. They'll all love you. We're going to meet them now. Try to be chalant." Robin said. I guessed chalant was one of his made up words like turbed, aster and whelmed.

He smiled comfortingly, then opened a door. 5 new faces stared at me, and I waved a bit nervously. They seemed to look me over, then broke out into grins. Out of nowhere, I felt an arm around my neck, and saw this cute orange haired kid with a red and yellow costume. He looked like my age, but he was taller than me.

"Hey babe," the orange haired kid said. "I'm kid flash, but special chicks like you can call me Wally." He winked. "Now, a gorgeous girl like you must have a gorgeous name. Which is..?"

I felt my cheeks heat up, then replied,

"Karla. Nice to meet you. So, I'm guessing you're the speedster?"

"Right on babe," he grinned.

Then, a girl with blonde hair who I guessed was the archer pulled him off of me.

"Hey," she said "I'm Artemis. Don't get to creeped out by this weirdo, he thinks that all the girls in the world adore him."

Wally looked at her.

"Dude!"

He whispered, embarrassed. I grinned, and she gave me a lopsided smile. I felt right at home. I knew that I would love this team. Rob introduced me to the rest of the team, Superboy or Conner, Miss Martian or Megan, and Aqualad or Kaldur. Superboy was kind of quiet, but I know that with a little time he would soften up. Megan was really perky and bubbly.

"I'm so glad I have another earth sister!"

She laughed, then clapped her hands. Kaldur was very stoic and serious. I could tell he was the Leader of the team.

"Welcome, Karla. I am glad that you could join us." He said.

Suddenly, after the introduction a blonde lady wearing black introduced herself as Black Canary.

"Hey guys. I heard we have a new recruit. Karla, step up to the platform and show us what you've got. You will be sparring with me."
