Time Flies: Day One

During the summer, my parents and I took a trip across the United States. One of the places we visited was Salt Lake city, Utah;We stayed for three days.

Day one in Utah was nothing special. We did what we always did when we stopped at a place; we parked the good 'ol RV in a neighborhood that had free parking. Even if you didn't own a house there. It was early in the morning when we arrived and I started to feel my stomach creating a black hole. I asked my mom if I could go buy some cereal for myself. She agreed so I proceeded to walk to the nearest supermarket.

When I get there, everything was mixed up. It was different from what I'm used to;  but, I press on and somehow manage to find the cereal aisle. As soon as I turn into the aisle, I see someone there. A guy to be exact. He looks to be about 17 years of age, possibly a senior in high school. He wears a black hoodie and black glasses. As I pass by him, I hear him mumbling something as he looks at two different boxes of cereal. I really couldn't hear what he was saying but it really didn't matter to me personally. After walking slowly up and down the same area, I finally found the love of my life: Vanilla Honey Bunches of Oats. I take a box and immediately start to read the back of the box. On my way to pay for it, I heard fast, heavy footsteps coming toward me. I was too late to react when I looked up. Bam! The blow was so intense that it caused me and the other person to be knocked over.

"Oh Shit. I am so sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going", I say as I'm getting up.

"Oh It's okay. I wasn't watching where I was going either." I hold out my hand, help him up and picked up the many boxes of sugary cereal he had with him. I couldn't get a close look at him due to my vision being blurry without my glasses but I see similar features of the same guy from earlier. Before could think of something to say, he says "Hey, thanks for helping me but I really have to go." With that said he grabs all the boxes that were in my arms and runs away. What a strange guy, I thought to myself.  I look around to find the box that I had dropped but found nothing. I was already near the registers and I was too lazy to turn back so I just grabbed a bag of chips and a soda, paid, and went home.

As I walked in through the doors of the RV, my mom greeted me. "How are you my sweet, beautiful child?"

"Good mom. How was your day?" I responded.

"It is going wonderfully. Your dad and I got some reservations at this restaurant for our last day on Sunday!" She was really excited. It seemed as if she were jumping up and down out of happiness.

"Nice! But, what am I gonna do while you guys are gone?"

"Well, you could just do whatever you like. Look sweetheart, your dad and I trust you and we know that you won't go out and do drugs and drink with some weird people because you have pretty bad social skills. You get that from your dad" She said smiling. "Whatever mom" I replied smiling along with her.

The day quickly ended with spaghetti for dinner and a good nights rest on the couch.
