Xander's POV

I arrived at the same forest we were in minutes ago. I tried finding her scent, but sadly, I couldn't find it.

The same amazing vanilla and honey that drives me wild is missing. I couldn't detect it, which was odd knowing that I can easily detect any scent since I am the strongest Alpha.

Is she not here? Or did she mask her scent?

I decided to start walking and try finding my mate.

I have been searching in my territory for hours, not detecting anything from my mate. Not even a smidge of her scent was found.

I was starting to grow impatient. Where is she?!

So, I decided to just lie down on one of the trees and wait for her.

I didn't give up though. I was far from that. It's just... I think it'll be useless for me to find a wolf who masked their scent.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was awaken by the sound of a growl and my eyes shot open, only to be met by those white eyes I still haven't gotten used to.
I quickly stood up from the tree and blinked several times, my vision still a little bit blurry from sleep and focused on the creature in front of me.
I sighed. It was just Ash.
I narrowed my eyes at her and saw blood spread out her used to be white fur, making her look like a wolf who's just gone to a war.
She was looking at me and growling lowly.
I then shifted to my black wolf, also growling at her, not liking her attitude me.
She snapped her teeth at me and growled loudly, advancing a step towards me.
Her wolf is big for a female, I must say. But I am still larger than her, meaning that I am more powerful than her and I think she still can't admit that.
I then also took a step towards her, also growling, showing her who the boss here is.
She then tackled me to the ground, catching me by surprise and my body landing rather roughly on the soft grass.
It didn't hurt though, but I was just surprised. I didn't think she had the strength to do that.
She was still growling at me, her canines so close to my face, almost as if she was going to kill me.
Is she really going to kill me? Or is she just intimidating me?
Well, either way, I can't let that happen.
I am the person in charge here. Well, in this case, the wolf in charge.
I quickly pushed her off of me, which was easy, seeing as she's small compared to me and placed her below me. Me being on top and her on the bottom.
I growled at her and she struggled beneath me, trying to escape.
I internally chuckled, thinking that she can just push me off of her that easily.
I am not weak. She should know that.
She was growling at me and trying to bite me or something and was thrashing around frantically, desperately trying to get off of me.
I simply put her in place, not even moving an inch from all her movements and growled loudly at her, my voice shaking the whole forest.
She then stopped struggling after my powerful growl and finally stayed still.
I growled lowly at her, my voice full of power and dominance, telling her that I am the superior here and not her.
I thought that she was going to fight back again but I was relieved when I saw her head move to the right side, a sign of surrender.
I stayed in that position though, not wanting to break apart from the arrangement we are in.
Blake, my wolf, wanting to be close to his wolf.
I then went near Ash, licking her on the cheek, which resulted to her growling lowly and to me chuckling, well, internally of course.
I then moved away from her and shifted back to my human form, going behind a tree to get some clothes for the both of us.
When I returned fully dressed, I saw that Ash was still on her wolf form.
I cocked an eyebrow at her. "Shift." I told her.
She just shook her head and looked at me.
"I said shift now." I demanded, not liking her attitude.
She then gestured me to go behind the tree. I asked her why and she just pushed me, literally, behind a tree.
"Okay, I'm ready." I heard a sweet voice said and turned around, realizing that she didn't want me to see her naked that's why she wanted me to go behind the tree.
I smirked at her. "Why did you let me stay behind a tree."
"I didn't want to change in front of you." She just shrugged and started to walk away.
"Wait up." I said, catching up on her and holding her hand.
She seemed to stiffen but relax soon, looking at me.
"So..." I started. "How was it?" I added.
"How was what?" She stopped walking and looked at me.
"How was your hunt?" I shrugged, as if her killing some wolves are nothing. I mean I've killed tons of wolves already so I really am kind of used to the whole killing thing. I'm just not used to females killing other wolves, the more, Ash.
"It was... okay." She mumbled, looking at the ground.
I sighed. This girl is so adorable.
I held her chin, pushing it a little for our eyes to meet.
"I'm sorry for hurting Aunt Marie Jane." Ash suddenly said, tears threatening to fall from her gorgeous eyes to her smooth face.
"And I'm sorry I hurt you." She quietly I added.
I sighed again and hugged her, something I really love doing, especially to my mate.
I stroked her hair and nuzzled my face on her neck, inhaling deeply, finally being able to smell that vanilla and honey I was craving and instantly calming her.
"Shhh... Don't cry, love. It wasn't your fault. Marie's doing fine. She's currently being treated by the pack doctor so don't you worry about her. And as for me, don't worry, you didn't even hurt me." I assured her, taking her hand and going back to the pack house.
