Heat.
The very first thing Topaz had ever felt. A blazing, scorching, yet pleasant, feeling had overwhelmed her now as she sat by her fireplace. Just like when she was "born", according to her dad.
Dad....
That was the last person Topaz wanted to think of. It was finally the day that she would move to Earth. A dirty, big, round ball of pollution and insensitive jerks, she thought. She had heard her dad say that multiple times. He was a native to Earth, but he was not a jerk. At least, not in Topaz's eyes. He was a kind man, tall and lanky. He was growing a black beard. 'He really needs to shave....,' thought Topaz as she rubbed one of her temples. When he kissed her goodnight, his stubble would scratch her fragile cheek. It was very painful.Aside from her dad, there were more important things to think of. Like, how she would get off this dumb planet, she thought. As she put out the fire in her fireplace, ashes poofed up from the small pit of smoke. "Ashes....." she said softly. Memories of the past were fleeting by. Topaz shook her head and blew the small bits of particles in the air away. She needed to get dressed.
After picking out a decent outfit, she looked in the mirror, studying the smaller details of her appearance. Topaz was a medium sized gem. She was about 5"1. Not as tall as her mother had been. She had big, brown eyes. Well, one eye. The left eye was (and always has been) covered by the parting of her long, dark blue strands of hair. The end of her hair was almost always put into a ponytail, to keep her flaming hair from burning her hoodie.
After looking for a while, her dad called to her. "Topaz! Are you ready?" He spoke in a smooth tone.
"Yeah dad, coming!"
Topaz had always felt a bit of anxiety when going somewhere new. But this time, she felt a bit more then that. This time, she could feel like something was about to happen.
